The hybrid creature, as its name suggests, is a blend of traits from both the Royal Pony and the Florasow. In this process, a Royal Pony is specifically selected for hybridization because its anatomy and characteristics are suited for transformation. However, it’s impossible to convert a Florasow into a Royal Pony, as the Florasow's plant-based physiology has already fundamentally altered its brain structure, making it incompatible with the traits needed in a Royal Pony. Advantages of the Hybrid Form The hybrid offers a variety of benefits, particularly for travel and self-sufficiency. For instance, it has an impressive water storage capability that can sustain it during travel, complemented by a built-in water collection and shading system that also benefits the rider. The creature’s ability to produce milk adds another layer of utility, providing a renewable resource. Thanks to its photosynthetic capabilities and an internally maintained root system, the hybrid is largely self-sustaining; it derives essential nutrients through photosynthesis and relies on an optimized gut biome that facilitates the complete breakdown of waste. This internal process creates vital minerals and vitamins to sustain the pony. Disadvantages of the Hybrid Form Despite its advantages, the hybrid form presents some challenges. The creature’s increased weight, resulting from its water storage, milk production, and the added mass of plant-based features, necessitates support for its legs. An exoskeleton provides this necessary support, allowing the pony to bear the additional load of water, milk, plant material, and the rider. This exoskeleton operates wirelessly, drawing power through an antenna embedded in the pony’s horn. For increased power collection, the length of the horn can be augmented to extend the range of travel. Conversion Method for Royal Pony to Hybrid If the Royal Pony is male, it must first consume a Plear fruit seed, which induces a transition to a female physiology, as the plant requires a female host to thrive. Next, the pony wears a specially designed, extra-thick latex hood that entirely covers its ears to limit the plant’s access. The process begins with the pony consuming the Plear fruit seed. As the pony sleeps, the Plear plant begins to grow, emerging from the rear of the pony and sending vines across the body. When these vines approach the pony’s head, they seal the mouth, yet they cannot penetrate the ears due to the thick latex hood. The vines that attempt to grow toward the ears are carefully trimmed to prevent interference with the pony’s brain functions, preserving its cognitive integrity. In cases where issues arise, the plant can be safely removed without risking the pony’s mental state, as the brain remains untouched. Once the plant completes its growth phase, the pony is fitted with additional gear, including a hood, harness, arm binders, and the exoskeleton support necessary to accommodate its new form.
