🎉 Big WSS Update: OpenXR, Quest Passthrough & More!

I’m excited to share a major update for WSS that’s all about modernizing the engine and adding some cool new features—especially for Meta Quest users.
What’s New?
🔹 Goodbye OculusSDK, Hello OpenXR!
The engine has been using the native Oculus SDK for years, but since Meta has stopped updating it, we’ve made the switch to OpenXR (via Meta Quest Link). This means better compatibility and future-proofing!
🔹 Mixed Reality on Quest!
Added XR passthrough support, so you can see the models in the real world through your Quest’s front-facing cameras (Just hit F8 Key to enable the mode).
Make sure to enable all the Beta features from Meta Quest Link setting tab!
On Quest 3, models now collide with real-world objects (not yet on the physics level) thanks to depth occlusion! (Still experimental, but super cool.)
🔹 UI & Performance Tweaks
Moved the scene menu to the top for easier access.
Added partial asynchronous loading to reduce hitches.
A Note on the ChangesThis update is less about new content and more about laying the groundwork for future improvements. Passthrough, and OpenXR support open up a ton of possibilities.

⏳ What’s Next?Once I’ve polished the content side (fixing animations, improving models, etc.), I’ll roll this out to all tiers. But for now, Pioneers get early access to test the new foundation and help shape the final version.
⚠️ Important: Since this is a work-in-progress, everything content-related is subject to change—animations might get tweaked, models adjusted, or even swapped out entirely based on feedback.
