Yeah, the movie does take place chronologically within the series' run, but trust me and everyone who says the same, it will be so, so much better if you watch it after!

The live action really is torture porn, I couldn't get through the second episode, what made me quit watching was a screen shot from a later episode. The live action casting was good but everything else felt off. The only thing that felt good in the live action was the jet/spike dynamic.
