Historically, Freyr is (phallic) worshipped by the Vikings as a deity of fertility and peace. His twin, Freya is the Goddess of War and Death who rules over FΓ³lkvang, where half of the dead warriors go to. The other half goes to the better known Halls of Valhalla, ruled by Odin.
