There are a lot of double entendre and word plays in his lyrics that are hard to directly translate into English. In Gyro-Drop, he actually dissed the 2023 false drug accusation in his verses so the "ride me like a carousel..."chorus is more about the way he was "screwed over" by the media being unfair. And "gyro drop" is a ride that never falls all the way to the ground. It almost touches the bottom and then bounces back to the top. Likely a symbolism referencing his career. I think Genius has better translation in general. Drama is about the toxic relationship between the artist and the drama chasing media/industry. There are a lot of hints in the MV and the lyrics. As an artist, he's constantly being watched by the media and the general public. However, it's a weird (or toxic)relationship. He is loved, but more so being consumed. He put in his all into the music and artistry, but it's never good enough, because media/general public wants drama. It's not enough when things are nice. He's constantly being watched however as an individual he's also isolated. The emotions he experienced/displayed in the video --loneliness, emptiness, longing, anger, are all but drama being recorded by the surveillance camera. He's like a used toy. Another hint is the "dangerous beauty" shown in the MV. It is an old movie that talk about a really beautiful woman that was loved by everyone, but when plague spread , people switched up on her and started accusing her of being a witch. A very direct reference to the witch hunt that happened to him in 2023. In terms of Bonamana, first of all, the rice cake refers to the same thing as it did in "Bae Bae"lol. There are a lot of different interpretations to the song. Some Kfans said it was inspired from a poem. I'm not a korean speaker, but the chorus "Am I weird? No doubt, obviously. Am I the one at fault? Isn't it clear?" reminds me how the media/netizens were judging/spreading baseless rumors about him. It was so easy for someone to say "look at the way he moves or walks, of course he is using d**gs". Even in his early careers, there were malicious comments like "he's an idol of course he didn't make his own song. If the song is a hit, obviously he plagiarized from western artist". The word "bonamana" has a negative connotation to me. It almost feels like he's intentionally making the lyrics scandalous and uncomfortable to the listeners. This is just my interpretation of the song. I really hope we would get some more insights into how the song is made.
