Genuinely felt like I entered his world of music listening to his album and experienced every song through his ears. Also I think you, me, and a lot of his fans were wondering why he released a full english version of smoke (roses, flamin hot lemon, and completely are also fully in english) and in general why he has a lot of English lyrics in this album even in his Korean songs. A fan actually asked him about that in a fansign call and he said that since he often sings in English when working on songs, he thinks that it just naturally ended up that way and regardless, he always tries to keep both English/Korean lyrics in his music. For me, I also think that maybe he was aiming towards a specific target audience? Especially knowing that most of his songs involved American writers and producers, I hope that means he has plans for his international and US fans ahhh!! Aaaand Emotional Oranges (the artist he worked with for flamin hot lemon) actually confirmed last week in an interview that Jaehyun will be featuring on one of the songs in their upcoming album in 2025 and I think that's huge for him, I'm excited!!

He himself only always calls the character "narcistic", but a few things he mentioned during his MV commentary also fit the myth very well. 2024-09-03 20:49:16 +0000 UTCFor the MV he wanted it to be a bit more mysterious and open to interpretations, but it is inspired by the greek myth of Narcissus, who fell in love with his own reflection/himself and ultimately died because of his obsession. In the MV you can see how obsessive he covers everything that could give others a glimpse of him (he even got many layers of clothes in the beginning, so that people on the streets don't really get to see him) only to deeply indulce himself in watching his own relfection in the privacy of his bedroom. There're also glimpses of him drinking from a lily, which is a flower of renewal - so him getting sucked into the coach and spit out all gooey could represent him getting reborn. Jaehyun also talked about how the him in the white suit is a different person from the one we first see and how the whole thing repeats itself. I think the Jaehyun in white suit is probably a reborn-version, that comes to warn the still obessed one. It's quite deep! I love how it doesn't match with the lyrics of the song, but the song itself also has these moody undertones that fit perfectly with the feel of the MV. And he really doesn't seem real. Jungwoo mentioned how the members still get amazed at his handsomeness and they have known him for ages! We wouldn't stand a chance in his presence I fear xD

He did such a wonderful job and I hope he keeps going and we continue getting solo albums more often since it seemed like he was working on way more music. I really like how he expressed his opinion to the company. Telling them he wanted the pre release and that he wanted something different than close ups of his face. I got to appreciate J as a creator and I am so proud of him

I've always known he's really talented but I see how others could just see him as a pretty face, especially if you're not that into NCT. So I'm really happy he got to showcase his artistry through this albumπ«Άπ½loved the Lee Mujin service video too and I hope we get some behind recording videos as well
