Earlier today, I posted update 0.2.9.2, available for patrons in the Scribe and Cantor tiers.
I'm really happy with how Chapter 2 came together, but I'm even happier with how Chapter 3 is coming along so far. There is a lot of stuff that needs to be done to get the first Chapter 3 content update ready in 2 weeks. I've gone through a lot of it already, but it's definitely shaping up to be the meatiest update yet, with a bunch of new sprites, backgrounds, and CGs. This is why I'm hoping that, right now, Chapter 2 is relatively bug-free and playable, because I'd prefer to focus on Chapter 3 until the end of the month.
Ever since the demo first came out in late June (has it really only been 2.5 months?), I've been getting requests to add a gallery to the game. Initially, I sort of shrugged this off and figured I'd get to it around the time of the full release. But as development continued, I realized that a gallery (especially in this game) works also as a kind of reassurance to the player that they have seen everything (or, well, close to everything) that there is to see. In a game where the plot branches and leads to different CGs, and skills can lock/unlock certain things, this actually becomes pretty crucial. So, here it is. You'll need a few playthroughs or save scumming to unlock everything. It might still be buggy, but I'm hoping it at least serves its function for now. I'd love to hear your feedback on it when you get a chance.
What I did this week:
Got the gallery and some of the Chapter 2 script written, revised, and coded for today's release of 0.2.9.2. This was a lot of work to set up, and much of it was kind of routine work, making thumbnails for all the scenes/PC complexion combos, etc.
Wrote a bunch of scenes for 0.3.1 (coming to Cantors September 28th).
Animated some Redwyrm sprites (looking hot AF in my humble opinion).
What I plan to do next week:
Continue working on 0.3.1. Right now, according to my calculations, this will include:
Animating 2.5 more sprites.
Writing 5-6 more scenes, some of which will need their own animated CGs.
Making 2 NSFW CGs (1 of these might be pushed to Tidesday, or might be added later in the Scribe release on October 12th, because these take the most time).
I would love to go back and start working on redoing some parlor CGs and old sprites, but I think this update in particular won't have any room for that, so that might be pushed to October.
Anyways, that's it for me. Have a great week ahead, and please keep the noise down in the carrels after Evenmass. There have been reports of some Brothers praying much too hard, and other Brothers complaining they can't focus on their studies. Your assistance is appreciated.
