MAP DESCRIPTION:
Windmill Path is a peaceful country trail, where it’s not uncommon to encounter farmers working the beautiful nearby wheat fields or customers heading to buy flour.
The large windmill is a well-maintained stone and wood building of great importance to the local inhabitants.
However, such abundance of food and the bit of money earned from milling and selling flour can attract the attention of criminals, monsters, and tax collectors.
A group of heroes stumbling upon the windmill will surely find something to do.
NOTES
Windmill Path is a perfect encounter map for early levels, where defending the miller and his family provides a good excuse for some action.
The 4 A4 format is convenient to assemble and perfect for immersing players in the countryside atmosphere, enhancing NPC interactions even outside of combat.
The wheat fields offer opportunities for hiding and launching surprise attacks.
The elevation around the windmill is an excellent position to defend it from monsters and bandits attempting a frontal assault.
Beware of fire! The windmill and wheat fields are highly flammable, so aim carefully with Fireballs.
Cruel and greedy tax collectors can be a perfect quest hook leading you to meet the local lord.
The miller could be a retired adventurer who, appreciating your help, might have unexpectedly valuable rewards. A well-developed character can create a truly interesting NPC.
Happy New Year, Fellow Darkish!

Find your favorite adversary, insert them into this map, and the story will practically write itself!
We hope you enjoy this map and that it finds a place in many of your games, as always!
