Welcome back Fellow Darkish!
The community that once lived here was just like the Forsaken Village: grim, dark, and far from cheerful.
As you walk along the muddy path leading to the Church, you hear the discontented murmurs of villagers gathered in small groups.
From the houses, someone watches you with malice.

MAP DESCRIPTION:
Forsaken Village is a small, old village surrounded by woods.
The wood of the houses appears damp and decayed, and everything looks to be in a state of semi-abandonment.
Broken crates and general disorder are scattered throughout the village, while the buildings are in dire need of repair.
Lacking a true central square, the village’s gathering point is under the hanging tree, a place of justice… and entertainment.
To the north, a slope leads to the most important building in the village: the Church.
The Church is a simple structure made of wood and rough stone, yet somehow solemn.
Strange symbols, likely added after the original construction, are prominently displayed on the front facade and roof.
A strange and gloomy atmosphere pervades this village, and the reason might lie behind those symbols.
NOTES
Forsaken Village is an extremely versatile woodland village that you can use for many different games.
The village’s design allows for various types of combat and for a thousand different reasons; from street brawls to defending the village from a zombie invasion where you must protect the inhabitants and structures while fighting.
The numerous buildings can greatly influence the village’s atmosphere and shape the adventure’s progression. Are there only houses, or will there be some special shops? What kind of life do the inhabitants lead?
The Church could be a central element in the village’s life. Will it be a place of benevolence and redemption, or will it hide something evil that corrupts the villagers? Will the cult held there be known to our heroes, for better or worse, or will it be something secret and mysterious?
The bonfire in the center of the village is great for posting guards.
Talking to Animals could be used with the goat in the pen or the crows scattered around the village; who knows what they might have to say.
The Well could be the village’s only precious water source, giving you many narrative excuses, but also hiding a secret exit from the church or a dungeon.
Forsaken Pass is the entrance to Forsaken Village.
Here is the Forsaken Village we promised you with the release of Forsaken Pass!
We aimed to move away from the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere of other towns and villages to immerse ourselves in a darker and more threatening ambiance.
We are not always welcomed warmly in our adventures, and some people are not happy to see groups of aspiring heroes walking past their doors.
Forsaken Village is exactly THAT inhospitable village where people don’t want you to solve their problems despite clearly having many.
Talking among ourselves, we came up with a thousand ideas and prompts on how to characterize the village, what stories could be set there, and how to use its atmosphere in an original and distinctive way.
We hope that looking at it, these ideas will come to you too!
We are very curious to know what you think of Forsaken Village, what vibes it gives you, and what kind of adventure you would set there.
If you want, tell us what interiors you would like us to create!
We already have some ideas in mind, but we invite you to tell us how YOU would like us to enrich this setting.
That’s all for this map, dear Fellow Darkish.
We’ll meet again very soon for the second map of the month!
We wish you, as always, great adventures and NAT20!
