MAP DESCRIPTION:
The Jungle Temple is an ancient place of worship for the lizardmen.
Within the dense jungle, two watchtowers rise, perpetually guarded by mages and soldiers.
The architecture is simple yet robust, and the entire area is easily surveilled from the heights of the turrets and the scattered walls.
A grand, adorned bridge allows passage across the small basin that separates us from the temple, fed by a crystal-clear waterfall.
On the other side, a collapse has marred the spectacle of the second waterfall that once cascaded into the basin.
Above the temple entrance, dominating the small clearing, stands a colossal serpent head.
This ancient totem is crafted with exquisite mastery, forged and sculpted from precious materials. The gemstone eyes alone would fetch an immeasurable price on the market.
But will the temple conceal other equally grand treasures?
NOTES:
The Jungle Temple boasts considerable dimensions, with multiple levels and structures to hide behind.
Intense combat awaits within its walls, perfect for reaching the heart of the temple.
The watchtowers may harbor weapon caches, provisions, or small outposts containing books, scrolls, or vital information. Use them as needed for narrative purposes.
Beware unexpected dangers lurking in the water. Taking a swim may not be the wisest route to reach the staircases along the walls..
The Serpent’s Head is an invaluable relic. Place particularly fierce enemies to defend it.
The Gems are priceless and likely precious to some deity. Why not curse anyone who dares to steal them?
Sacrifices and rituals of various kinds can be performed on the head of the snake, a perfect and scenic stage
In one of the recent monthly polls, a comment caught our attention.
It proposed a temple from an ancient civilization, and we liked the idea.
However, it seemed that the theme wouldn’t be well-explored with just one map.
So, here’s the first in a series of jungle-themed maps featuring Yuan-Ti and Lizardfolk.
We’ve tried to accommodate those who requested a spacious battlefield with multiple elevated levels, allowing spellcasters and ranged characters to shine.
It turned out quite grand, and we hope we’ve done a good job! 😄
As always, pleasing you is our greatest pleasure, and we hope we’ve achieved that with this map! Let us know what you think and which other maps you’d like us to create for your games.
You never know when a comment will spark our imagination, so feel free to leave plenty of them!
You can still participate in the Kickstarter for Book of Spirit, where we’ve curated the maps.
Each map in the project has been specifically designed for Book of Spirits, along with other carefully crafted details in this D&D expansion.
