MAP DESCRIPTION:

The Throne Room is the heart of the Castle, the place where the most important ceremonies and the most splendid events are held.

A rectangular environment that develops in length, with very high ceilings and where the attention is guided towards the immense windows, whose light bathes two large statues of the Winged Victory.

Below them, surrounded by the chairs of the Councilors, the King's Throne stands out.

The Room is entirely built with the most precious marbles and materials, and even the inlays on the floor are in pure gold.

Going down these stairs after being announced by the Chamberlain to all the nobility of the Kingdom is an emotion that any hero would like to experience, and you are here.

At the end of the wide staircase you find yourself in the main hall, where the lucky guests to the hall can drink and dance. On the sides of the stairs, near two statues of Gryphon, you can climb onto the internal balconies, from where you have a perfect view of the Kingand the entire dance floor below.

In front of you are the wide steps where you can only climb by the specific will of His Majesty: Climb the three steps and kneel before your Sovereign.

Will he entrust you with a mission after hearing about you?

Reward you for some deed you have done?

Or something went very wrong and you were dragged here in handcuffs?

NOTES:

• The large structure, the potential hiding places offered by corners and columns, the balconies and the general architecture offer a very varied gaming experience, especially for those agile enough to make good use of all the features of the map.
• Will you fight against the Royal Guard or against some villain? Will it be an honorable duel held in the center of the hall or a senseless massacre?
• Not just fights, the Throne Room is perfect for living all those political adventures that you didn't know where to set!
• The symbols present in this Throne Room want to suggest a Virile, Warrior King, of a kingdom that gives high importance to cavalry, glory and military power. The colors, white, gold and red, suggest a facade of great integrity for this King. Whether this is the truth or just a facade to hide the rot, you can only tell by playing!
• The High Council of the King sits by his side. Will they be great honorable and respectable sages or corrupt people who only care about their own interests?
• During balls and parties, new servants are usually hired to bring food and refreshments during the evening. It would be the perfect opportunity to infiltrate the palace and have an easy stealthy contact with the King.

This is not only the last map of this 2023, but also the last of the first year of life of Darkest Maps!

We published our first maps at the end of 2022, and these first 12 months together have been hectic and intense!

We started from scratch, with a dream, a lot of passion and goodwill in our hands.

We were not sure where this project would take us, but during this year we lived with you Fellow Darkish really many emotions!

There have been beautiful collaborations, like the one with James' RPG Art, and we have received more appreciation and recognition than we expected.

We learned a lot as artists and cartographers, especially thanks to your feedback and our maps grew with us.

We are really proud and happy with how things are going, and all this is possible only thanks to your support!

We ask you to continue to support us also during this 2024, with the promise of always giving you our best!

In this regard, among our goals for the next year, certainly at the top there is the desire to make our maps VTT Ready!

You have asked us so many times, and we are working to land on Foundry as soon as possible.
