WW1 Tank Map Assets

Six famous tank models from the Great War.

This month we teamed up and revisited the First World War. Up until now the WW1 Trench Map Assets was the only pack explicitly from the period, and what is the obvious addition? Tanks!

I want to thank our friend Christopher for his help in the research phase. I was really out of my depth, and he helped me hone in on the selection of tanks I'm sharing today.

What is that selection? The...

Each one is drawn to-scale according to the best information I could find. History buffs, please educate me if and where I went wrong! ;)

Not planning on running a WW1 campaign any time soon? I hope you'll still find a way to use these! Perhaps in some kind of time-slip scenario, as the nefarious invention of a BBEG, or as an ancient relic buried deep underground...

Do you have any ideas for these? Please inspire us by sharing them in the comments! These were great fun to make, but nothing's better than hearing how they'll be used. :)

Mmm glad to hear it! I'm still rolling Lancer ideas around in my brain. Hope to draw something soon...

Yup, definitely using these maps for mecha battles. It actually reminds of some of the lancer art of a mech leaning on a farm house with a little telegram that went along the lines of finding the farm empty, of finding jars of marmalade, leaving a little money, then moving on.

It was! Once I figure the scale out it was smooth sailing. :)

Hope you all have a blast :D

Sound wild, and awesome fun!

I love these! This prompted me to continue the ww1-fantasy oneshot I was doing with the boys and the gun rules from the DMG(?) [Maybe phb idk]

I might be using these for a Diasporan world in my lancer setting that had a branching technological evolution. See, there were so many colony ships sent out by a previous government body, that sometimes you'll even find gundpowder age samurai who traded raw materials for one or two mechs that noble houses claim.

And let's be honest, WWI had some cool-looking vehicles and concepts. I bet it was a ton of fun to draw them.

It's really fulfilling too! Feels like, at least in a hand-drawn art style, we're creating something completely new to the internet

I really love seeing stuff like this. Lots of people produce "forest with a dirt road and river" maps but things like this can be much harder to come by!
