Your 2-Minute June Update

Oh boy, things are heating up here! Spring is behind us and Summer is now cresting the horizon, threatening to turn all my drawings into smudged paper. It's time to rev up the air conditioner, I think.
May has been an exciting month though, and together we produced some beautiful and practical art and articles. Allow me to walk you through them...
- Green Hill by Rootyful
A single oak tree stands upon on a 32x22 grassy hill. The locals call it by the simple name 'Green Hill,' and it is a favorite spot for picnics and weddings. - Dungeon Wall & Floor Assets by Ross McConnell & Rootyful
65 new assets and textures for building your own carved-stone dungeon. - The Pirate's Grotto by Connor Johnston (CocosTreasuryOfTokens)
A wrecked sailing ship is lodged in the depths of a sea cave on a tropical coastline. - New Tokens! May 2022 by Austin and David
Conveniently packaged, pre-colored, ready-to-play versions of the tokens we created this month.
On the website we published the following supplements, each ready to be drag-and-dropped into your world...
We hope that you and your table get plenty of fun out of one or all of these, and we thank you for your support in getting them made! At the very least, I am very excited to use them.
I mentioned a certain Map Printer tool in last month's update, and I'd like to sneakily share that here for you to try out as a kind of alpha test. I've already got a list of improvements I'd like to make so, if it seems a little clunky right now, please bear with me! You can find it here:

This month I'm going to experiment further with CSP and Photoshop brushes, and I hope to create a new nature-themed pack to utilize them. We're also working on more Dungeondraft stuff to cover May's art, and Connor has already begun planning something of a sewer battle map. I think you're going to like the articles we've got drafted up too. Stay tuned!
Finally, thank you again for making all this possible! We couldn't be happier to be a part of this enthusiastic, creative, welcoming community.
All the best,
– Ross

Thank you for the feedback Maggie! I'll see what we can do about that.

Is it helpful to give you bug reports for the map printer? Doesn't seem like it prints grids when I use it in Chrome on Mac OS. The art prints across the pages as expected, but none of the grids are laid on top. Otherwise, this is going to be a fantastic help.

Hi Bram. I'm really sorry to hear that these maps have been a disappointment.
The Silver tier actually does not include exclusive maps, only the extracted asset packs in addition to the maps from the basic $1 release. If you've been subscribed at the silver tier for maps specifically, I'd like to offer at least a partial refund so that you only pay for what you were intending to pay for. It's the Gold tier that provides the three additional variants and their night/dark versions.
Similarly, I'd like to refund you for any pledges you've made towards our tokens. I advise folk in our intro/About page to use the Monthly Maximum pledge option to avoid paying for these if they don't want to, as tokens are always release #4 every month and you can opt to only pledge towards #1-3.
In light of your feedback it seems rather silly of me, but the way I have been choosing the base maps that appear in the $1-2 packs was by choosing the variant with the most "general application". For Fort Foul Luck I went with the green grass, and for the Pooling Caverns the limestone cave. I thought these would be useful to more people than, say, the desert variants. The Green Hill was a tougher pick as the variants were so distinct but, comparing them with the existing basic collection which already has hillside caves, forest trails, and country roads, I thought the iconic hill would be the best addition.
In the future I will consider how to spice up the general map so that they are more in line with Rooty's (usually) variants – I suppose this is a good problem to have, in a way! It means that Rooty, Connor, and Crunkle's are making some cracking variants that outclass the base map I give them.
I'm earnestly trying to improve on my art skills, but I also often look at some old maps and think "huh, I should do that technique more." It seems that I step side to side more often than forward. Which maps do you consider your favorites? I would like to take this opportunity to zoom out and consolidate what it is I'm doing here, but just following my own tastes clearly has its flaws.
Anyway, I'll DM you shortly!

Hey, what's with the three other maps in the image with the grassy hill there? Are they included in the gold tier? I'm starting to get the feeling that silver tier maps are no longer maps on their own. If you look at Fort Foul Luck or the Pooling Caverns, they look pretty uninspired.
I hate the pooling caverns. It's a bland, dull mess that is hard to read. From what I can tell, silver tier maps are no longer fully fledged maps, but instead a stripped down, unfinished map. All the color and fun is added for the gold tier. Am I wrong in this assessment?
Look, I love this patreon, and I have been with it for a long time now. I love using the maps and using the assets to make my own. It saves me a lot of time, while making something look professional.
I don't care about the tokens, not my style. I came here for the maps. And now I am getting the feeling that I am getting *less* than before. Is there a way to opt out of them?
I have thought about going gold for a while, but it's a lot of money to spend on maps and tokens that I quite often can't get the full use out of.
What's going on with the non-variant maps? Are they gonna be stripped-down versions from now on?
