Your 2-Minute December Update

Good morning, and welcome to a new month! I hope that this post reaches you in good cheer and good health, and that you're weathering 2020 well. :)

November has been a blast. At the start of the month I treated myself to some new art supplies and upgraded my pens and paper (and even added some watercolor to my repertoire) and it has made drawing all the more fun. The maps and assets flowed especially easily, and I'm eager now to keep on drawing as soon as I'm done typing!

We spent last month laying the groundwork for a Christmas-themed collaboration between Troy, the Token Team, and myself. Well, Christmas with a desert spin, anyway! Troy and I dwell in Australia and celebrate Christmas each year in the heat of summer, and we want to share that experience with you with a strange tale involving Krampus and a vast desert... We will be elaborating more on the blog very soon. ;)

Our grand Token Editor is also progressing nicely! Not only did David and Austin inject 152 new tokens into it last month, but Reuben has created a new, solid foundation of code on which we're going to build a whole list of features such as color palettes, weapon and accessory addons, and more. You can follow our progress more closely on Discord, otherwise I'll keep you updated every now and again here. :)

So what will I be working on this December? Seeing as my contribution to the Christmas project is done, I'm going to spend my time getting back to the basics. I've realized that my art style has evolved a lot in the years I've spent working on the 2-Minute Tabletop library and, frankly, it's time some of those old assets get a remaster!

As usual, I want to balance basic and bizarre, so I'll be releasing equal parts of useful-to-everyone and probably-a-one-shot material, much like the Desert Map Assets are useful to most campaign settings whereas the Krampus Encounter Assets demand some more creative worldbuilding.

Are there any themes you would like me to revisit in particular? Right now I'm drawn towards forests, camps, caravans, and ruins, but am yet to fully decide. Let me know what's on your mind and I'll add it to my ponder-list!

And before I go, I want to thank you sincerely for your continued support, and for allowing myself and this small team to keep doing what we love. I'm truly excited to get out of bed every day to make something new, and it wouldn't be possible without you. I hope I can make it worth your while! Thank you. :)

A Little Something Extra!

Cyberpunk Red just had its full release a few weeks ago, and you cyberpunk apartments/street assets are a huge part of my sessions! I would love to see more cyberpunk interior assets. Keep up the great work!

MageJonah

i'd love to see some more interior stuff! maybe something more in the spooky vein like a lab or something dracula-esque! i know spooky season was a few months ago though :P

I’m always looking out for more wilderness assets- trees, shrubs, flowers and foliage - I’d especially like some things that come in different colours - fruits, flowers etc to make meadows and similar with. Similarly, I’ve been planning writing an adventure that happens in an overgrown forest ruin at the peak of a mountain, so crumbling walls and moss covered pathways and stone pavings would be brilliant!

Haha I feel you Tommy! I just dug up a bunch of reference photos I took in 2016, so I'm gearing up for it at least. ;)

Still just waitin for that japanese castle interior :) or an asset pack for those kinds of buildings.

Tommy_Dude

Id like to see new cave and underdark assets as well. Those had their time ^^

I have a pirate campain I'm running right now (inspired by the Sea of Thieves lore) and I would be enchanted to have more temple/ruins/jungly themed maps (although it might not be the season ha ha)

Carothia

I would throw my vote behind ruins - I feel like it's one of the few things that doesn't have asset packs available yet. As an alternate suggestion, I wouldn't mind seeing the cave builder assets expanded or revamped; there's a few things like gaps/pits, water bits or slopes/elevated bits that I'd like to see added! The dungeon asset sets are so expansive and awesome and it's a shame the caves set don't have as much stuff. I was also going to suggest - as a continuation of the spell assets - wall of thorns/stone, some entanglement assets and/or maybe mage hands? I've never played a lot of casters, but those are the ones that stick out to me having things that can appear on the mat. I'd be neat to see them!
