Airships & Assets

This project really *blew up,* and took a few days longer than I thought. No matter, the resulting ships are done and ready to set sail in your Spelljammer, steampunk, or high fantasy game.

I've mixed in a wide range of levitation devices, from "mundane" zeppelin balloons, to arcane crystals of weightlessness, to roaring steampunk machinery. Likewise, there's armaments such as ballista large and small, steam-propelled harpoons, and your average flamethrower.

Of course, not all of us have the time to put the assets to good use, so I have also prepared a set of balloons and two pre-made airships using our free Galleon map. There's also a fun Skyport Gazette written by Sam Brown, containing some flavorsome adventure hooks, which I recommend you check out!

I can't wait to see what you put together, so please share them in the Community section. Enjoy!

Thanks to you, these are released under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

WOOO!! Thank you so much! I'm running an Eberron campaign that takes places a few years before airships were invented, and I've been frantically searching for ships to use in your style for when I introduce them. The search is over! Thank you so much!

These look perfect! It's a shame that my evil campaign isn't meeting for a few more months, because my group's been having a blast with the hacked together airships we've been using. Can't wait to get the fleet of airship assets updated!

These are super cool!! Definitely going to get some use out of them soon!

Thanks for the reply! I'll do some more testing and reply back. :)

They do state that in their guide, but they also state that maps should have 140x140px per grid square, so I went with the higher number. Does Roll20 outright reject higher DPI or throw an error? Does it break their auto-sizing? I will admit that I didn't road test them. If so, I'm happy to work with 72 DPI in the future.

Ross from 2-Minute Tabletop

Amazing work! I just wanted to let you know that the reason Roll20 assets have to be resized is because they require assets to be 72 DPI and your assets are much higher. So I've been manually scaling them down to 72 DPI in Photoshop. I love your art.

Perfect timing! My players will love this.

These look amazing!

I didn't know I wanted this but now I know I can't live without it.

More ships that can be converted using this pack, at the very least. :)

Ross from 2-Minute Tabletop

This is the most awesome asset pack i have ever seen!!!

Oh man, I'm prepping a sky-islands type setting, and this is perfect! Any chance of more airships in the future?

I love how versatile the assets are! I don't plan to adding airships any time soon but my campaign does include arcane-technological machinery and it's very difficult to find mechanical-looking pieces that are in this beautiful sketchy watercolor style!!

Marianne Rogers

Those are super cool! Excellent work. : )

Maxime Durocher

Those look amazing. Thank you so much for putting so much work into them!

Hoooly hell this is awesome :O

This is perfect! I'm going to re-purpose some of these as Spelljammers for my library's Summer Reading Program (this year's theme is space). I'd planned on using your boats and just telling people to imagine wings and things, but these are even better!

shiningmonkeyenergy

It's creepy... I've been searching papercraft airships for my Eberron campaign for few hours, and now you upload this! Thank you!

This is fantastic. I've been splicing and cutting up your other assets for almost a year to make airship designs, but this'll make it so much easier and faster to make some really amazing versions. Thank you!

Poptard

Oh, EXCELLENT variant selection!
