The Haunted Cellar

What lies beneath a haunted mansion? Why, a haunted wine cellar of course! This map serves as both an atmospheric base for last week's mansion and as a battle map for its spooky basement.

The entrances to the cellar are outside and under the two interior staircases, and you will find that the first floor snaps neatly over the cut-away space on this map.

I went all in with the Halloween color scheme on this one, so it's perfect for a last-minute adventure this weekend! Tell me, what do you imagine the origin and purpose of that arcane circle is..?

Thanks to you, this spooky map is released under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

I'm afraid that this is even pre-assets, and all of these are baked into the map and drawn in a single page. I think Photoshop is indeed the solution – godspeed!

I recognize this is pre-DungeonDraft (I think), but you wouldn't happen to have the assets for this (or even this in DD2VTT format) would you? I'm trying to cobble together a haunted cellar with a small area where someone bricked in someone else (like in the Cask of the Amontillado) for a session of my D&D game. Maybe I will just photoshop this one.

Any updates on this? :)

I can imagine quite a stressful hostage situation arising from that.

This was the first map of yours I incorporated into my campaign and it elevated the attention and play strategy in my players. They were dealing with a Vampire and Vampire spawn who has effectively taken over an orphanage.

An easy edit, Devin! I will make a note for when I get time. Probably not this month though sorry, it's going to be a photo finish as I leave on a family vacation tomorrow. :S

I have a suggestion. I know you like releasing alternate versions of maps. It would be nice to have an alternate version of this map with the secret area in the bottom half blacked out and the cellar walls are intact. That way I could put it on the table without having to hide the stuff on the bottom until the party found the secret openings. Just an idea. Regardless, please keep up the excellent work!

One of the best encounters I've ever run! My players were ecstatic

Wow, and that underground arena was especially cool!

Love your maps! Check out the "cellar" I made for your mansion in the album of this post https://plus.google.com/114945916119909267621/posts/hCUfva7GQT3
