27 New Tokens & Something Exciting
Added 2018-08-29 08:21:18 +0000 UTC
I've been working on this token editor since shortly after the Hero Tokens pack, and I couldn't resist making another token pack in order to launch it. I decided to start with a collection of orcs, goblins, and wolves.
You can access it here: https://2minutetabletop.com/customtoken/

...and more!
It's all fairly self-explanatory, but the basic functionality is as follows:
- Use the color select buttons and the color picker to custom-paint your virtual token.
- Changing the color of a group header will change all of its components to match.
- Right Click and Save the token when you are satisfied with the color palette.
- You can then drag-and-drop it into a Roll20 scene, or use it with your VTT of choice.
Please note, it is absolutely in Alpha, so please expect plenty of wonkiness. Please share your suggestions and bug reports in the comments, as I will be iterating upon this between artwork. I already have a list as long as my arm, but more can only help!
Coming soon:
- Saving and loading palettes
- Randomizing a token's color based on a multidimensional palette
- Adding and positioning gear (weapons, etc.)
- More tokens (and those Hero tokens)!
This is a secret Patreon-exclusive release, so please keep it within your circle of friends for now! There will be a full public release when I have everything ironed out. ;)
Indeed, coming very soon :)

I don't know if this is planned, but I believe it would be great and not that much complicated (but I could be wrong) if you could add the "title" of the token to customize under the token image in the home page of the token editor (where we choose the token to edit). This will allow us to easily search for a specific token like we could ctrl+f in the browser and type "elf" and we would be able to scroll to all the "elf" easily

Did anything else ever come of this?

There will absolutely be a filter by keyword search bar at least. I also have a system in the works for equipping and positioning gear. :)

Love this! IMO the browsing at the start is nice... but having a drop-down for different things to filter would be better... I need a [Fighter] wearing [plate] wielding a [sword and shield]

Thanks - may I ask what browser you are using?

A tremendous tool! Looking forward to making great use of this.
Bug report: I find the colouring tool to work on the first colour I select, but then some alternative layout seems to kick in (such as tattoos) when I try another colour or shade, which I can't always change back.

dude.. cool!

Any chance we could get names on them? Some of them are a little hard to distinguish without any colours. Having said that, please keep going with this project! These are great!

AHHHHH this is so good! What an exciting update!
Feedback: I would love to get an image that was already square (or at least sized to fit in a round number of 5ftx5ft squares). Would you consider a setting for this?

Awesome :) Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the feedback, Norman. It's easy enough to add colored previews, I just need to dive in and make them. I will do it when I have written the ability to load a palette, I think.

It's just a mix of PHP and Javascript. Before I became an aspiring artist, I was an aspiring web designer. ;)

Pretty great Idea and Alpha =). I find it hard to see the Characters with only the outlines. The shading makes it better but some of them are still confusing and even cut off in the Preview Picture. I'd love to see it progress and get some Desert and Nature Folk in there :D

I made it super easy to expand the library, so it's just a matter of drawing them now!

This is sick!

This is completely awesome dude. I would love more critters, monsters and monstrous pcs (dragonborn, goblins, etc) to really fill out the spectrum but oh wow this is the beginning of something awesome!
