The Typical Tavern

It's been years since I drew a tavern, a staple that you can never have enough of. So, I wanted to draw a "baseline" tavern, a Typical Tavern.

Changelog

April 18th, 2025 - Assets extracted from the map and are now included in the original .zip, Dungeondraft pack also created and included.

With your standard-affair tavern out the way, I'd like to branch out to more exciting taverns every now and then. Ramshackle taverns, dwarven (dug)inns, low- and high-class varieties, etc. etc.

The PDF is 16x11" and should print each floor on 2 sheets of US Letter or A4, for a total of 6 sheets (or 4 if you don't need the roof). Of course, there are VTT-friendly PNGs as well. You will find all these in the ZIP below. Enjoy!

Thanks to you, this map is released under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

Glad to hear it! (It's something I still hope to learn, haha)

literally just discovered how to layer these maps in FGU so that I don't have to switch my players between screens.... very exciting, currently adding LOS walls, windows, and doors, and lanterns to each layer.

Nice! When are you going to release these new token? : )

Maxime Durocher

Sewers at least, for sure! Thank you Leo. :)

I hope some Egyptian-style and sewer dungeons is in your plans for the future. Love you work (sorry for my english)!

Thanks! I think so too. I don't plan on stopping, either. ;)

I have to say: your art style has evolved quite a bit since since your Trusty Tavern back in November 2015. :)

Great map set! With your permission, I've linked to it here as a potential map for The Blinking Dog Tavern: https://freenpcpatreon.wixsite.com/freenpc/the-blinking-dog

you don't need a hearth when your tavern looks this good ;)

Nate Hastings

No fireplace? This is really pretty though, I love the roof.

Adam C.

Excellent stuff. Looking forward to you branching out too. :)
