The Snowy Sanctum

An ancient platform abandoned long ago to the frozen wastes, its purpose lost to time.

It's been rather hot lately, and one of the ways I cope is by drawing cold-looking maps. This Snowy Sanctum is another "get the MacGuffin" map, where I imagine the players must battle their way to the top, collect the great xyz, and then make their escape back down.

What comes to your mind when you look over it? For me it's icy undead. I think that Warcraft is to blame for my great affection for them!

Thanks to you, this map is released under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

Mmm, I love that game. I always wanted to take a shot at running something similar for my players!

perfect for the Banner Saga style game I'm deep prepping for, I can definitely see this being a "final stand" type scenario

I am the same way. I am transitioning my own campaign into winter in time for the finale for that very reason!

Me too honestly, but I also like mixing things up. Right now I can only scan line art at a max of 200 DPI, so it is a good time to practise the painterly style.

I am more partial to outlines, however.

I have an affinity for campaigns in cold climates. Maybe it is Game of Thrones, maybe it goes back to Dragons of Winter Night. Either way, thanks for another useful map!

I'm in Japan right now, actually! The weather goes back and forth, but it's humid heat that kills me.

I like it. I like it a lot.

Aren't you in autumn heading into winter? What's hot? I'm curious. :)

Oooh, what comes to mind for me is a plotline I have waiting for my players that involves going somewhere very cold, dark, and snowy.
