Boooo!
It's nearing Halloween, and that means an excuse for ghosts, skulls, pumpkins and all the other fun things! Okay, skulls are appropriate any time of the year, but ghosts and pumpkins are very much seasonal! Which brings us to this spooky little vase mode box!
The challenge in this one, as is probably apparent, was to somehow make something stand freely inside something else, while adhering to the strict requirements for vase mode printing, which are primarily a) every horizontal slice needs to be a single perimeter, without islands created by points, pockets, or disconnected elements, and b) no angles shallower than 45 degrees from horizontal, since layer lines need a reasonable amount of overlap with the line underneath if it's all going to hang together!

The bit that really took time to get right, and which looked very wrong in previous versions, was, not surprisingly, the top of the ghost's head, and its positioning under the arch. Thanks to rule b, above, making the top of the ghost's rounded was simply not an option, but it needed to at least convey a sense of roundedness.
So, the ghost was made conical on top, but that cone shape was then intersected by a plane from behind which slices through at 45 degrees, giving a nice rounded intersecting line while still being very nicely printable under the iron-fisted constraints of vase mode!
Print Description
This is a vase mode print, so set your slicer accordingly!
I did make a non-vase mode version, too, but you're much better off just using vase mode, but then increasing the number of perimeters to get a stronger print :)
Print Dimensions
The Ghost Nook Box occupies 105mm x 105mm on the print bed and is 87mm tall!
Supports Needed?
Not at all! Designed for straightforward printing!

Further Thoughts
That's right, there's a lid! Lids can be useful things for boxes. However, if you've read that bit above about increasing the wall perimeter count in order to make a stronger not-really-vase mode print, you might need to scale the lid slightly to compensate, since any extra perimeters will reduce interior space slightly, and the lid interior sits against the main box exterior.
Happy Halloweening!
