The Ghost in the System

Nowadays creating cyberpunk aesthetics with so many cables doesn't make much sense anymore (in technological terms), but aesthetically I still like to compose images with old screens, lots of wire and even I've disassembled a vintage dialing telephone for this set composition. It reminds me of that pre-wireless cyberpunk that William Gibson described that has become a bit obsolete.
What do you think: when we consume cyberpunk books or movies from the 80s and 90s, could we already talk about retro-futurism?
