Almost always I try to paint myself, unless patterns or body drawings are very complex or with intricate patterns, then I collaborate with makeup artists for such kind of super elaborate bodypaints. But if the bodypaint is simple, I prefer to paint myself for the shootings, even the back (which tends to be less uniform lol); it's kind a ritual for me at my studio... But as so many times the skin of the aliens I cosplay is flat/uniform color, people use to tell me a lot on different media that it looks like photoshop u_u
For me the final result is always more interesting that way than photoshopped, plus I love the tactility of the body paint on my skin... And I think it adds a final layer of artistic value to a sci-fi erotic/boudoir photoshoot, at the end before the nudity remains the paint work.
For my curious Xeno Warriors today I bring some process pics changing the color of my skin for a photoshoot; in this close making-of shots you can appreciate the brushstrokes while they dry, before I apply the powder all over my body to uniform the tone.
Do you appreciate the work of a whole body painted just for a shooting or do you not care and think it would be the same effect with photoshop?
