Love love love those games

Franklin

ben lol 😂 every time you mention the telltale games my heart aches, I love those games so much

moon

Thanks for appreciating that Jenna

Franklin

Your personal anecdotes really elevate these reaction videos Frank. I think it's really important how you point out moments in these scripts and can identify moments in your own life that these correlate to, and then have a really valuable discussion about it, especially on topics like SA, bigotry, and the manosphere which you really excel at explaining on a deeper level

Jenna Dolls

She did bring food for Judith, but she literally passed out the moment she got there... she knew she was going to die if she didn't find help. So it was mutually beneficial and IMO doesn't give points toward or against Michonne.

Ella Phillips

You gotta understand from their POV, Michonne hasn't been friendly or warm, she has often been unpredictable, belligerent/violent, and most importantly she left them at Woodbury to go get The Governor without telling them that OR explaining to them afterward that that's where she went! It's still all stupid writing IMO to create conflict, because like you said before WHY DIDN'T SHE FINISH THE GOVERNOR OFF?? Insanity! And since she didn't, all she did by killing Penny was make him even crazier and more of a menace without anything to lose, when she could have been fighting alongside the group and helping them, and showing them how helpful she can be in these situations! And maybe Big Tiny wouldn't be dead and we'd break our 3 Black Characters Maximum Allotment (I'm never going to feel okay about the way they killed T-Dog just to introduce Big Tiny, then killed off Big Tiny just to introduce Tyrese. It genuinely feels like only one black man is allowed to be in the group at any one time. Ugh)

Ella Phillips

yo hold on i'm watching this with you and I can not BELIEVE the episode ended like that! wait i just remembered a new episode is coming out later tonight lmao

Apai

I'm SO SORRY this happened to you. Yes, fuck those cops and fuck that asshole. I hate that this is somehow still the world in which we live. I hope you're doing well and have been able to heal that part of yourself 💖 (me too)

Rhiannon

You’re so right about rape cases going unprosecuted. When I was on dating apps, one of the dudes raped me and I remember getting home, crying, telling my mom and her demanding we go to the cops. he’s blocked me on the app so I lost his information. The cops asked if I’d been drinking. They asked if I’d been doing drugs. They said “you’re a big girl. You couldnt fight him off?” I was devastated. Ended up just walking out, not one of them followed me. All I could do was tell them what happened and hope they’d listen and no one did. Nothing happened to the guy. He’s still out there and probably has done it to others like me and I felt so guilty for years, thinking i should have done more for the girls who would surely come after me. But it was the police who failed ME. And who failed those future women. Fuck those guys. Unfortunately, in the apocalypse, those people still exist. And they suck and have no regard for other people so they usually end up surviving these things.

Julia Timlin

This is very good

Franklin

he's horrible. And by the way, I think that's such a stupid plan. This is the same group that cleared the whole prison of walkers

Franklin

Legendary wire scene

Franklin

Thank you glad you're enjoying the reactions and the conversations. The brother dynamic is amazing. Darrell is such a badass anytime he comes to his brother, it's almost like he turns back into that kid who was abused and abandoned

Franklin

Yeah that sounds dope thanks for asking

Franklin

Agreed. The governor is such an ass

Franklin

factsssss

Franklin

I love how you framed that, Sometimes these characters put mirrors in front of us and we don't like looking in that mirror

Franklin

really good thoughts noted on the eating

Franklin

Thank you . Exactly

Franklin

That's a good point about some characters not being written as well as they should be.

Franklin

Really good comments about how much has to be done to earn trust in this world. I love everything they do with brothers and how It shows us a little bit into their past well said

Franklin

love the callback

Franklin

he must be protected

Franklin

Some of us still listen to 70s music and don't like any rap 🤣🤣 I pay for your Patreon because you don't just watch it and say nothing. The conversation is the worth.

"If Daryl dies, we riot" Emails sent weekly to AMC by the thousands. Posted all over social media. On every TWD discussion forum. It was a campaign. 💖our Daryl!

"He's Korean" That's the callback to at the farm when someone said that to Daryl and he also answered "whatever".

When Tyrese says to Hershel "Can't you see what kind of people we are?" It makes me so sad.  When you get burned by so many people, it can be very difficult and you learn not to trust....not even those with good intentions. You no longer trust words or their stories. The trust has to be earned even more so in this horrible walker universe. My question is just how many actions are required now to earn that trust. You listed a lot of positive actions by Michonne that certainly earned my trust. Merle has done nothing at all to earn my trust. I've wondered if Daryl sensed that if Merle was allowed to join the group back at the prison, one wrong move by Merle and the group would mow him down so Daryl left with his brother to save him.  The Governor may not have physically raped Maggie, but sure as hell he mentally raped and physically assaulted her.  It was beyond sad for me to learn that Merle and Daryl's father beat them when they were both young (as evidenced by the vicious scars on Daryl's back) which led Merle to leave home. It is quite apparent now that when Merle left, he left Daryl behind to take the full brunt of their father's abuse. So now Daryl realizes he can't stay with Merle any longer, he needs to leave as well and be with people who appreciate him. Merle initially refuses to go back with Daryl due to not believing he has a place at the prison and I agree he doesn't at this point. That is because Merle has NOT been able to heal from all his past trauma....and then being left handcuffed on a roof only made him feel helpless once again, like he did as child at the hands of a brutal father. I want to think that after seeing Daryl save a family from walkers on the bridge, as well as the brothers confronting their past trauma, Merle realizes he's better off with Rick and the others. Yes, indeed, same reaction as you Frank, to Daryl and Merle arriving back at the prison just as Rick is on the verge of being bit and you see that arrow come within inches of Rick's eye. Rick's shocked expression says it all!

You mentioning Andrea asking the right questions and ignoring the answers. Yea and she was a lawyer. They don't write her character true to who I think she would be. She was freaking out when the Gov was making Daryl & Merle fight "to the death" but then is right back sucking up to him. She should have been GONE to find her real friends. How Lori & Andera are written drives me crazy. Sarah Wayne Callies & Laurie Holden are good actresses but given some real shit to work with. Sarah never seemed to have her heart into the role to me other then when she saved Hershel and her death scene. They give Andrea the backstory of being a civil rights attorney and then right her like the "dumb blonde". Her scenes back with Dale were so good also everything with her and Shane. But as soon as the Gov poked her, her brain fell out. What a waste of a character. Chandler Riggs (Carl) also gets a lot of hate online. Every time I rewatch this, I'm astounded at what a good actor this little kid is. Carol is my ride or die apocalypse girl. I've been on that end of a fist and fell for her as soon as we met Ed. Best character arc of the show IMO. Andrea wants to feel worthy.

Pam Copling

Thank you for speaking about the SA barrier couples go through. It is such a hard thing to go through and many times the people you love will want you to take action and will find it frustrating if you don't. The victim sometimes just needs support and big love.

Nicole

Poor Rick, man. Everything snowballing: Hershel's leg, losing T-Dog, losing Lori, his son shooting her, new baby, Glenn and Maggie being kidnapped, attacking Woodbury, Daryl leaving. It all just piles up, and that's all on top of starvation and sleep deprivation; it's no wonder he's having auditory and visual hallucinations. You're so right that he just needs one good rest. I think Daryl leaving was the final straw because, as you said, he has been taking on a lot of Rick's burdens and relieving a lot of weight from him. Without Daryl, he had to shoulder everything on his own again (even though he obviously had Glenn and Hershel, but to him they weren't in a functioning state). Sucks that Tyreese and Sasha's first impression of him was just "Oh, he's CRAZY, crazy." I was mad at the writers when I first watched because why'd they introduce such great characters only to toss them aside so fast? 😂 The scene with Daryl and Merle is one of my favorites in the show; it demonstrates Daryl's growth and emphasizes the importance of found family. Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus play their parts masterfully; you really almost forget they are acting. Seeing the scars, finally, you can understand why, after he fell down the cliff in the woods while looking for Sophia and was in bed getting treatment, he tried to hide himself when Carol walked in. He didn't want her to see his trauma. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of relief I felt when he decided to go back to the prison. I've said before that he became my favorite character so fast, and the thought of him leaving was crazy scary for me. Lucky they barely let it last a couple of episodes. The shock I felt when Axel died, bro was just beginning to earn some respect from viewers and got sniped out of existence so fast. Everyone missing their shots during that battle was so frustrating, Maggie coming in with the tower kill was so good. Daryl's return came right on time, too, because the Governor didn't get to see he and Merle were still with the group, and he was able to clutch for Rick's life. What frustrates me is whenever Rick finally starts addressing his mental health and trying to grieve, something else crazy happens, and it gets put off until he has some downtime, then it comes back full force with a vengeance. His issues keep compounding, and he has no time to process them. Also, friend, I love you, but I must tell you, some of us out here have misophonia, and you eating in the microphone physically hurts us, especially since I have to watch with headphones. 😭 Not telling you not to eat, but if you could be so kind as to pull away from or mute the microphone while you chew or possibly pause, have your snack, and come back later, I could actually watch the whole video. Been having to skip some juicy bits lately. I hope you don't take this the wrong way; I just really enjoy your reactions and want to hear them!

MegMegMegg

These are such great eps. Always appreciate your care and words! I love season 3 so much. I always joke that Andrea has a serious case of “I can fix him - itis”. She’s such an interesting and human character. Frustrating at times but I think that’s cuz she shows us an aspect of being human no one likes to confront. The need to feel accepted by some ppl drives us to do stupid shit.

Broody Gaming

That being said I really loved everything u had to say about Merle choosing to go with Daryl and really face who he has become.

Matthew Arner

Daryl and Merle’s dynamic is one of my favorites in the show. They’re such good representations of two different types of abuse survivors. Daryl on the one hand took the opportunity to use what he suffered to not become like his father and perpetuate the abuse onto others, which might be because good people came info his life at just the right time. Merle on the other hand becomes an abuser and probably becomes more like his father, which is probably what he never wanted to become, especially in this scene realizing what his little brother suffer probably shot him back in time and made him think of when he turned away from being good and trying to heal, instead choosing to be the asshole he was raised by. I do think there’s a point to be had that Merle never was given that same chance that Daryl was and it’s unfortunate but it’s his own fault, bc maybe he would’ve had that chance if he didn’t instantly start beefing with Rick on that rooftop.

Matthew Arner

I think the whole thing with people becoming their worst selves after an apocalyptic event is damaging propaganda. Not necessarily consciously but the message is that we can't be good to each other without law enforcement and all our other authoritarian structures. What we see again and again in real-life disasters is that the majority of people come together, cooperate, help each other out. It's not survival of the fittest: it's survival of the most collaborative.

melskmelsk

That second episode "Home" is FIRE. The attack comes as such a surprise at a quiet, contemplative moment with many of the core group kind of separated and Rick not in his right emotional space. I think that the Governor pulled away. He wasn't in the van with the walkers; he was outside the gate in a truck. Thinking about the toxic relationships (Daryl/Meryl and Carol/husband), I believe the same thing would happen if Carol left with her husband as happened with Daryl. You go for a bit, see this bullshit again, and peace out. Really, if you think about it, Rick is more of a brother to Daryl than Merle ever was.

Melissa

Oh and I wanted to ask! Would you be okay with people sending you deleted scenes or generally TWD related content? I recently found a deleted scene from the show and I thought maybe you'd like it but since I think it's from next episode or the next one I've decided not to send it until you've watched those just in case! I find it could add some depth to certain characters, their stories, etc. so I wanted to make sure you were okay with it!

Iris

Rawatching this with you is giving me so much insight into Daryl and Merle's dynamic. I never noticed Daryl's voice breaking when he's talking to his brother about their dad. Just like I never noticed how scared he was during the scene where everyone is chanting for him and his brother to fight to the death. He looked like a puppy about to cry, with ragged breathing and everything. That made me so sad!! I've loved Daryl since I watched the show the first time around. And his relationship with Carol, how they mirror each other with their past and how they choose to move forward, has gotta be one of the best parts of the show. The part with Andrea believing she can change things for the better, believing the Governor will let her... that person you mentioned, the one who said Andrea had the perfect mix of overconfidence and naivety, really nailed it. Everytime I rewatch this arc I keep waiting for it to go differently and it's just as painful as the first time when it doesn't. Really had a blast with your reaction!! Your videos always seem to make my day!! Have a nice one.

The governor left the camp, they basically dropped their load of walkers and split, like the shit stirrer that he is. He knew that they were too entrenched so he let walkers do his dirty work. Kinda lame with how brave he tries to project himself as being, but of course that is just a projection. He's a multi-layer cake of interesting writing. 95% evil but with 5% decent frosting, to keep the people in the camp convinced that he's a good dude overall.

Eboe Thrasher

50:40ish I have never been in such a situation, thank goodness, but I am excellent at seeing from other perspectives. To add to this look on abusive relationships from an objective viewpoint: In a healthy relationship you are comfortable and safe. You know this and feel this, especially if you have never witnessed/experienced the opposite. So, you have the freedom to respect your/one another's boundaries. But in the abusive one, you don't. You can't. Those same freedoms are well hidden. You aren't safe enough to leave if you wish to. I believe that constant toxicity is just engraved into your brain chemistry, into your behaviors. So, once you actually gain your freedom, you are not entirely free. You are still chained to that toxicity and it is easy to fall back to. I've only ever heard stories from my mom so I can't fully comprehend it, nor do I wish to, but I know it cannot be easy to overcome, if ever. Your outlook and insights are always well said. I really do enjoy watching your reactions and listening to your take on a situation and/or character.

Senobia

I feel that

Franklin

Fact! And we’re here for it

Franklin

Daryl has given himself an unofficial knighthood. Protects the innocent, even from his own brother.

Susan B

I think Rick is not trusting Michonne in the opening scenes b/c when they got to the town, she took off for her own plans. He seems to feel that abandoning the group makes her untrustworthy/unpredictable. I agree with you, though!!!
