Comments

You might like to watch the comments from the writer/showrunner Jess Armstrong and the actors after each episode. It almost a „Making of“ only a few minutes long. It calls „Controlling the narrative”. When the show was on I used to watch them and the official HBO’s Podcast of the show after each episode. It was a whole different experience getting to learn the intentions and reasoning behind the characters actions. It made me admire even more the writing of the show.

That’s good and true

Tf???

That’s valid. That definitely changes things in my mind. Last episode I did not catch that he was the one that betrayed his wife and the rest. When he said “things he wants to explain” I assume he was talking about whatever is the reason they broke up, maybe things we haven’t seen because there was a time jump before this episode

Franklin

Haha true true

i love that the conversation between Tom and Shiv kind of plays out like Greg is the Other Woman 😂 Also yes this is the last season!

Honestly, I'm completely on Shiv's side when it comes to whether or not they need to have a break-up conversation. When Tom says, "There's some things I wouldn't mind saying and explaining," he's talking about the betrayal in Italy. Why does she need to listen to him tell her that he prioritised his career with Logan over his marriage to her? If there are any three people who might expect to love you in this world, it would be your mother, your father, and your partner. In the span of 3 minutes, Shiv realises she has been betrayed by all three. When she tells her brothers "I need to look out for myself, because no-one else will," it is pretty obvious why. Over the course of the marriage as a whole she was definitely very mean to him. For the 'open relationship/cheating' stuff, she definitely cheated with Nate, but as soon as Tom wanted him gone, he got kicked out, and she never re-engaged a physical or emotional relationship with him. Tom didn't have to agree to an open relationship, but he did, so as far as I'm concerned sleeping with the actor while Tom was in Hungary is no sin at all. Then when he tells her on the beach that he doesn't want an open relationship, she apologises, their relationships closes, and she doesn't even flirt with another man for the whole of season 3. And during this entire time, Tom is constantly trying to get her pregnant, and vying for a higher position within the company. I understand that lots of folks and more team Tom than Shiv, and I understand why, but this is just an alternative perspective.

This IS the last season.

Connor talking about the wedding ideas is soooo Kendall in its absurdity (think Kendall's bday party)

31:49 regarding Logan being lonely . . . I always think back to him talking about how he and Marcia would read to one another at bedtime. It seemed like such an intimate and loving thing to do.

I think shiv biggest weakness was apparent here and is that she can’t really pick a side or is constantly wants to open her choices which is fine but it just kinda blows up in her face like the marriage with tom and trying open marriage to her trying be a politician while trying get into the business of waystars back in season 1 and beginning of season 2 and in season 3 instead of trying to keep tom in the loop she just half assed and pushed him to the side it and it backfired heavily and especially in this episode she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to do the business acquisition that they had in store first before the pierce news came out. I love shiv when she’s at her A game but when it comes to crossing that bridge she just chokes and never decides truly on anything
