t the CEO of Netflix is Barack Obama. And the only thing I can think of that would make the Netflix cancel this was the discovery of the American people and Canadian people learning of the Indian residential schools here in Alaska, Canadian nation and all of the dead indigenous children the timing of this cancellation. The Indigenous people Who endured this horrific period of time. It affects them to this day. It hurts so bad to know that during the Dakota Access pipeline is being forced onto the Lakota nation by Trudeau and Obama. The assault by national guard forces state police to attack those defending the sacred water keepers when Obama was asked if he would intervene he said no let it play out. Most Americans do not know what the Lakota and Dakota land is a country within this country as they never signed any treaty with the US to become a reservation. The money it was given to them that they refuse stealing trust billions and billions of dollars yet they still refused to sell. But the Lakota have a seat at the United Nations. After all the death and destruction of the property and other nations, the pipeline went through, and just as predicted immediately leaked into the largest waterway seven states drinking and farming, water, forever poisoned. It is the reason why I never voted for Obama and his second term as he became known as the the deportee in Chief and deported more immigrants than any president in history match less in his second term, he continued destruction of Libya and backed Saudi Arabia against the Yemeni people. And killed with a drone strike two American citizens and use drones at 90% kill of civilians. Very difficult time in American history so long ago 10 years ago. The white washing Obama administration and all of the machinations settled down under his authority left me stone cold. I am an independent I don’t believe in left or right I believe in right and wrong, in class struggle against authoritarianism that is now leading into massive shift Into totalitarian dictatorship. The US is a dying empire, all dying empires. They turn into importing the rights of the constitution and do everything in their power to destroy their own people in silence out of fear of being placed under martial law. Being a child of immigrants from the second world war, you were taught to understand what this looks like and how it turns out. I’m sorry for the long dissertation. This beautiful story with heart so they canceled it because it would leave a stain on Obama and the history of the US, Canada and the Catholic Church rather than own it, we buried it, and no reparations for those who suffered in both nations. why I would believe anything different is beyond me. But I still hold a space for Hope, compassion, Activism, and a new system to-be grassroots, complete very strong and united for win with mighty old empire probably in the next 40 maybe 50 years. Things are happening so fast and I may be off by 20 years. Wednesday there’s going to be a long path Charlie Kirk that will allow for the government under secretary general Marco Rubio to declare, whether or not what a person has said online or how they supported anyone who protest Palestine, Israel issue, et cetera will have their visas taken away , passport Revoked and American citizens, to have their citizenship stripped, and imprisoned.

It's probably one of my favorite shows of all time, definitely not perfect by any means, but it's got so much heart it's impossible not to love the stories and characters we're introduced to. I'll always be heartbroken that it got canceled, there was so much that was left unfinished. But they definitely wrapped it up as well as they could, and it was satisfying enough to feel like a proper ending. Thank you for sharing your experience watching AWAE for the first time with us! Hope your wisdom teeth surgery and recovery went well ❤️

This is the first time I've watched something for the first time with a reactor and I really enjoyed it! I doubt I would've found any reason to check this out if you hadn't taken it on and I would've been missing out. Thanks Frank!

Watching other versions with other actors is just not the same for me. Like others have said, glad Matthew's death was not included, I would not handle it well at all because he stole my heart! Now I'll go be sad for awhile.....SIGH........

Melanie Nicholls-King is in loads of stuff! I distinctly remember her in Orphan Black (an excellent show btw, I highly recommend)

2025-08-14 18:40:54 +0000 UTCi will say, the only good thing about "anne with an e" getting canceled early was not having to go through matthew's death scene, i still can't watch that without losing it. this anne and matthew have such good chemistry, and her face is so expressive, i don't know if i would survive it (if this counts as a spoiler i'll delete it, but it happens in the books and it's never gonna be in the show so i don't think it does?)

2025-08-14 18:13:47 +0000 UTCthey've made a couple "anne of green gables" tv/movie adaptions over the years (the books are very good if you ever want to check them out!) but the iteration i grew up with was the canadian films from the 80's/90's. i have been in love with gilbert blythe since day one, and this show did Not disappoint. highly recommend giving them a watch if you like gilbert's Heart Eyes for anne

What a real treasure. A love story in a book, so perfect for Anne. I wonder if the change in plans for Diana was because of her mother, not her father. Maybe Marilla was able to make her see what Diana’s future was really worth and how her personhood was being so damaged by being forced into finishing school and marriage. Just imagine the future as Anne and Jerry and Diana all grow up and get married and have children, coming back to visit Green Gables. What a rich future for Matthew and Marilla, too.

Loved every bit of it! And while it sucks AWAE didn’t get to continue/finish their story, I’m so damn relieved we will never have to see Matthew Cuthbert die. Ugh I loved everyone but man..he’s top tier 😂😭
