Very good point

Franklin

Your reaction to "She's a million years old" is great. Ah, Roman. My favorite rockstar moron character strikes again. All the writing is so funny to me, I can't handle it. I wonder if there's fan fiction of this show under an alternate title. Trust Issues maybe. Financial puns and all that. Ha.

I think that siblings, no matter how old they are, who grew up and teased each other as kids can easily slip back into that sort of thing as adults. Roman has been acting more mature in many circumstances, but I think part of his problem is that a lot of those people like Gerri, he has been around most of his life, so he has a weird relationship with all of these people. Shiv is the same. They all grew up around a bunch of adults quite a bit older than them, and so the only people they had to lean on were their sibs, which is why they slip right back into this behavior that they used to distract themselves from their dad being a total shitbag.

Shiv is SO OBVIOUS with her schemes! Gerri’s face is like, giiiiiirl, please.

Much Love Paris. Thank you. I could talk about them for hours so I love that you all fuck with it

Franklin

After finishing both episode reactions I gotta say I love your analysis & discussions of these characters man! You’re able to pick up so much of what the show presents on the surface & underneath. It makes your reactions one of the best out there & so rich & enjoyable!

Franklin

So many good moments from this episodes OMG

Franklin

There's definitely a lot to dissect there with how seriously Gerri said Do not try to fuck Laurie

Franklin

Hell yeah

Franklin

Exactly

Franklin

I feel you on this. That's why I've been wanting the scene of both of them.

Franklin

the conversation between shiv and their mom.... ouch. it honestly made me feel better about my own relationship with my mom lmao but it's still awful to listen to. their mom is really the classic "jealous of my daughter because she's the 'other woman'" type of mom, or at least that's the vibe i've gotten from the way she speaks to/about shiv in all the episodes leading up to this. and i do think that shiv might have felt some relief from their mom saying "i shouldnt have been a mother" (until the follow-up, anyway), because not a lot of people can actually admit that to their kids; then she turns around to say "you're the same" and ugh. i really feel for shiv in all the scenes with their mom.

I love Shiv and Tom’s horrible relationship. They’re kind of perfectly compatible in that they’re awful in complimentary ways. Fascinating!

Valaree

So excited for you to see the finale! 🔥

I kind of wish Frank would have to wait for S4 after the season 3 finale like we did. The torture.

EPISODE 8 THOUGHTS: "Don't open Pandora's Box. There's just more dicks in there." ---- I mean, the WRITING on this show is unparalleled. 1:56:58 And on top of it, she tells Shiv that she is making the right decision in not having children -- putting Shiv on her level as a person that shouldn't have them. The dog comment about Logan kicking it -- so apt. It also reminds me of the dog cage "game" referenced in S1. Gerri, totally serious, "Do not try to fuck Laurie." That conversation at the dinner table with Kendall and Logan is one for the ages. The acting, man. Unbelievable. I could watch it over and over. The dick pic storyline was so satisfying in the way it played out. Just to see Roman's reaction when he realizes what he's done & the way it totally shifts his power with his dad. And Shiv, always ready to pounce and turn the knife. :)

EPISODE 7 THOUGHTS: I think you're prophetic, Frank. Just as I'm thinking, "OH, HERE COMES TOO MUCH BIRTHDAY!" and all the mess that goes with it . . . and you're out here saying the show will "make us feel like we ain't seen shit yet." :) It's Ken's 40th birthday, and it's "all bangers all the time!" Or is it? Your reactions to Ken singing "Honesty"! Priceless. I just watched the Billy Joel documentary last week, and when this song was talked about, all I thought was Kendall Roy. Honestly? (pun intended) I think I'm just in love with Jeremy Strong's talent and performance so much that Kendall has become a real person to me. In a show full of top tier actors, there's something next level in Strong. "This is the full fucking thing!" Tom's celebration in Greg's office is soooo good. The way the writers play with the just-under-the-surface sexual tension between Greg and Tom is brilliant. It's never overt, but the writing and the chemistry between the actors always makes me feel like they could kiss any minute. Or fight. But, you know, either way . . . 🤷‍♀️ (The quality is DEFINITELY shit. I never noticed it this poor before. Not your fault, of course. But you're not seeing things.) 53:27 As emotionally fucked up as Roman is (they all are), you're right. He's the best at reading people and honing in on how to navigate them and any deal therein. We saw it in S2 when he said the outside money was "bullshit". He has a natural instinct for it. How dare they deprive us of the Tiny Wu-Tang Clan!!! 😠 Shiv looks stunning in this episode at the party. She's beautiful always, but I love her hair and that green dress. 👗 Love her dancing so free, too! 105:45 I've ALWAYS thought that Kendall wanted to say, "I wish I was dead." The vulnerability Strong is able to evoke in Kendall. Ahhhhh, it kills me. That's what always pulls me back to him. I want so much for him to move forward, grow, get out of this bullshit. Like you said, he knows. He puts up a pretense of strength or indifference, but deep down, he always feels empty, searching for meaning and self-worth. It genuinely hurts me to watch it. Plus, the final scene of Kendall, wrapped in a child's sleeping bag, putting his head in Naomi's lap like a little boy. This show. Wow.

Melissa

Man it’s going to be torture to wait for episode 9

N

the whole discussion about The Shit Journals of Columbus-- I have a lot to say about much that's accurate, that there is that direct line between That and families/institutions like The Roys. But I'll just leave it at Yeah, That

amanda_owl

I love that whenever Ken is in the middle of a breakdown, Frank looks directly into camera 👀🫣 lmao There is only one episode left in season 3. Episode 9 is the finale. Don’t forget to watch Ben Cahn’s impersonation of season 3. https://youtu.be/K_858IukwBQ?si=DZhJYKLzdv_8oD2z after the finale.
