Now that you are watching Sense8, The Magicians and Peaky Blinders are great, and Prison Break (SO GOOD) as well as Altered Carbon. For a more lighthearted show (though I wouldn't put it under comedy in the same way as The Good Place is), Good Omens is wonderful.

Not many people react to Black Sails, and it flew under the radar when it was airing, but it's definitely one of my favorites of all time. Only 4 seasons, great ensemble cast, and nuanced themes around power, myth-making, and anti-colonialism. I think your brand of insights would fit well with the character-focused writing; plus great action sequences.

Hey Frank! I'm pretty new to your Patreon having come here way of FoxTaco for your IWTV reactions. Quickly ran through your Haunting of Hill House which is one of my faves. It may not get the votes, but Hill House reminded me of Six Feet Under, the family dynamics, the commentary of grief, life and death. It's absurdly hilarious at times, can be absolutely dramatic, some of the finest acting from HBO's golden age, and the best series finale of all time. Hoping for it one day!

Voted for Firefly because it's not REALLY just a vote for Firefly, it's a vote for Firefly/Buffy because you will be so sad that you don't have any more Firefly and so impressed by what's there that you'll instantly have to check out the show with the same quality that wasn't cancelled early :P And you'll fall in love with it just like Taco!

I would also like to suggest that even if it’s not with us, that you watch The OA. It’s such an incredible show that I’ve never gotten over the devastation of it being cancelled before its conclusion and still believe that one day in some form we will get the rest of that story. I’m a dreamer and an optimist (perhaps maladaptively? so)🤷🏻‍♀️ 😅😆but I really do hope with all my heart that it happens eventually. 🤞 At any rate, watch it! I think you’d love it.

From the nominees I voted True Detective S1, The Expanse and FireFly. But I also highly recommend WatchMen (HBO), Deadwood (HBO), and Fargo on FX (S2 is a standout!). I think your love of challenging unpredictable dramas with excellent writing & style would make you very happy with any of these!

The Leftovers and Dark are great and thematically dense, while lasting the perfect amount of time for the stories they wanted to tell (3 seasons each). Sense8 was canceled too soon but at least had a chance to wrap things up in the final ep (also a good Pride month watch!). The Expanse is also fantastic, and I think its political topics will be interesting to you (e.g., colonialism, tribalism).

Six Feet Under has my vote. So many life lessons in this series that deals with the subject of death. Does a remarkable job using dark humor and well placed irony. And it lead me to watching another great series that came out later called Dexter. I would second vote Sense8, but it was cancelled because Nexflix stated the show was very expensive and that there wasn't enough people watching it to justify the cost of continuing production. I dislike starting a show and then it gets cancelled, such a disappointment..

Doom Patrol is also worth checking out. Pushing Daisies has a similar vibe IMO to The Good Place...

Sense8, Dark and The Expanse are my top tier choices. Ive watched Sense 8 and The Expanse over and over and am about to rewatch Dark again for the first time so it’d be dope to watch it with you guys too!

Just finished Andor & it was absolutely peak TV & oh so timely. It’s only 2 Seasons but it’s a top notch show that rivals the quality of many feature films. It just shot to the top of my Rec list!

From the nominees I voted True Detective S1, The Expanse and FireFly. But I also highly recommend WatchMen (HBO), Deadwood (HBO), and Fargo on FX (S2 is a standout!). I think your love of challenging unpredictable dramas with excellent writing & style would make you very happy with any of these!

I recommend adding THE DAY OF THE JACKAL to the list. It's such an underrated thriller show that keeps you at the edge of your seat ... Binge watched it yesterday and i couldn't stop till i finished it

True Detective is must watch tv and only 8 episodes. I will be happy to see many of these shows, including Sense8 but man that first season of True Detective is too tier.

I will not give in to despair. I have a five year plan to slowly recruit more and more sci fi fans to the channel until eventually we have the numbers to get The Expanse to win. xD On a more serious note, I've seen all but two of these shows and they're all awesome.

the fact that Sense8 is winning is filling me with bliss :D this show took my heart by storm when it came out and I was honestly devastated when it got cancelled after two seasons. Such a cool concept, there was so much potential. Can't wait to rewatch that masterpiece with you.
