I'm really loving this journey with you!
I will admit, as much as I love you Franklin, I had to skip the scene with the mandatory happy/family hour. So much second-hand embarrassment is just too cringey! Oof, hard to watch.

For real too funny. I would’ve been happy with her messing with David for a whole episode

I totally forgot about the scene where Jocelyn tells Roland she is pregnant....with Johnny and Moira's head buried in the menus.......I couldn't stop laughing! And for sure I wanted that ending scene to go on when Alexis was teasing David that it was twins....too good!

I feel you. David and Patrick really shine bright. They're hilarious but also mature
I'm glad you're loving the show. That's a good comfort watch

That is such a good point, everything gets wrapped up in that episode in a satisfying way. Homeboy held that fridge like he just got hit by a tornado 😆

One of my favorite things in these two episodes is the job interviews. Ted asking Alexis to join, and her agreeing; how rather than just flirting or whatever, they actually do real things together, and for each other, and both enjoy it, and it actually works. Also, Alexis identifying the candidates by their physical flaws, just matter of factly, even while approving of them, with no detectable malice at all, is just inspired character writing imo, and it hits because of Annie Murphy's brilliant acting.

And two past exes showing up there that night and Patrick’s new to a same sex relationship, definitely would be nerve wracking and totally understandable to need a minute. This is one of my favorite episodes. I love Patrick’s character. He is so steady and confident to contrast David but definitely has his vulnerabilities, too.

The other thing I love about this show, yes, there are misunderstandings for comedic effect, but they don’t drag it out. Everything wraps up fairly soon, usually with an adult conversation about it. I love watching Patrick’s reaction to the Stevie-Jake-David interaction. Bracing himself against the fridge is always so funny to me.

“It’s a smiley face, so that must be positive”. “Well THAT’S presumptuous!” One of my favorite lines. Of course Jocelyn would get a happy face/sad face pregnancy test. lol

To be honest, it’s just my opinion and reflects on nobody else’s experience. The first episode the only saving grace for that episode to me was the beauty of David and Patrick’s character development in their relationship and communication skills.
The second episode was absolutely hilarious as usual and was such a coin flip from the first experience between David and Patrick when Stevie and Mr. I want it all and I want it now showed up at the apartment. The disposition between the two was a hilarious and I’m glad they worked it out the way they did
Overall, I just have fallen in love with this show. And I’m surprised that the first episode here was the only one where I had to just pick out one true saving grace about the episode and that was of course as I said David and Patrick. 💞

I think that scene at the beginning of episode 2 where David, Johnny, and Moira are looking at the pregnancy test might be my favorite of the whole show. It made me laugh so much the first time I saw it because not only was Moira’s delivery hilarious but if you watch David, Dan (the actor) was trying so hard not to laugh the entire time.
