You might be pleased to know, based on what you said about this show's resonance with that particular anime, that these books are surprisingly HUGE in Japan and have been adapted in anime!

One thing I love about this show is it gets better and better with each season, introduces such loveable characters and deals with so many important topics as it goes on too❤️ I think it genuinely touches on most things important to talk about. great reaction Frank as always! I watched this show quite long ago so you’re reminding me of how much joy is in it!

The song is "Il Était Une Bergère" ("There Was A Shepherdess"). The lyrics are about a shepherdess guarding her sheep and making a wheel of cheese from their milk, then a cat sticks its face in the cheese and she kills it. It's all cheeky innuendo about sex but I'm sure Jerry only knows it as a catchy silly song.

I hope we can convince him to watch the 1980s series afterwards. At least the part that continues the story from where this version stops!

It's so interesting to see, back then, a fancy ribbon for your hair would be so precious you would keep it all your life and pass it to your daughter like an heirloom. I find it touching in our era of overconsumption and disposable everything...

I love the growth of this last two episodes. Matthew, knowing that his sister could not fulfill her heart and go with John because she sacrificed for him all her life. And after his heart attack, I think it hit him harder, thinking he was a continued burden for others like Marella And Aaron having to once again repeat a cycle of having to give up dreams to take care of him. Also is well known now that people who have heart attacks, especially older people heart attacks bring on hormonal changes that causes massive depression. I’m glad the love he sacrificed Had come to visit him once Anne re-sold her dress and obviously she gave Anne more than what he had paid for the dress. I’m grateful that Anne and Mars conversation over the gift Anne’ new admire, had given in the book about receiving it with love, not pity. In the first episode, I loved the shot where a snowflake fell on Gilbert‘s hand and melted into a tear a tear that the young man could not let go of himself is what it felt like to me. I loved reading Anne of Green Gables, and I love how they have recreated this story in such an elegant and beautiful way. The acting, cinematography, the love for old English. To this day, Even has a great grandma in this new world. I still say “ I beg your pardon?!” Especially when the grandchildren say something cruel or out of line about someone or some town gossip. Thank goodness it isn’t very often. I’m so grateful to found your channel and community. I’m grateful to be a Patreon. I will do what I can to increase the funding. You and your lovely wife are worth every penny.

EPISODE 6: I love the repeat of the breath on the window glass -- Anne breathes on it and wipes it away to see Gilbert outside in the beginning and she exhales onto the glass as she looks for him through the window at the end. Beautiful. I also loved the shot of the snow melting in Gilbert's palm like a tear running down the side of his hand. I took it that Gertrude and Josephine were in love, yes? ❤️ Like Marilla, I have a selection of cards and mementos from the love of my life tucked away. Finally, "Grief is the price that we pay for love," is perfection. I miss my mom so much every single day (she's been gone since 2016), and I always remind myself that only deep love lives on that long -- and that's a blessing.

OOFT i cannot WAIT for the day that, instead of the classic signature Frank "HeLLO!?", we get an "I beg your pardon!"

I think Michael is the older brother, then came Marilla and then Matthew. When Michael died, Marilla was around the age from the flashback with John Blythe and Matthew around the age from his flashback with Jeannie of the dress shop. They were both very young still but they ended up never moving on because they were needed to work at home. Very sad for the whole family. I think raising Anne helps them see the possibility that she has if she can be nurtured, just nurtured and loved and supported, instead of so young being pushed into “obligation”.

A premier in Canada is like a Prime Minister for a province or territory. Basically, the head of government for that area.
