similarly to the bulk of comments before me, it's one of my personal favourites! aside from the very prominent discussions about mental health and self destruction and addiction and trauma — there is a LOT of frankly refreshing criticism towards hollywood and in the way it is built / promoted. i've always recommended it to friends but it can contain quite a lot of heavy subject matter so i wouldn't expect a public reaction for that reason as well! (not that i wouldn't welcome one! 🙌)

I thought I was on the other side of something the first time I watched - Bojack showed me I very CLEARLY wasn’t - on my second round I got the beautiful details in between the heavy topics. Top 10 fav western animations.

Some people aren’t fond of the first season, personally I really enjoyed it but it is certainly the type of show that gets better and better with each season

It being an animation really helps, because I don't think I could've finished it if it was live action. It has really funny moments too tho

Not unenjoyable, but mid-tier with regard to such things. Still worth watching, tho. Not a popular opinion, I realize. Just my most honest take.

It is funny and the philosophical depth and social commentary go deeper and more nuanced as the seasons go by. Again, as always, thanks for the great content ^^

Def a great show with fantastic writing, but I personally started it during a dark time in my life and couldn't finish it.

Like, I felt I had changed as a person BECAUSE of the show and its unique way of exploring all types of life lessons (trying to be vague). I do think the episodes are a mixed bag - some are okay/fun and some are incredible pieces of art. I saw a post years ago that said if your friend is rewatching Bojack Horseman you should definitely check up on them and see if they're okay. That really is the best way to describe the show. I would, as others, definitely recommend, even if you don't watch it for the channel. Cheers!

I’m not a big cartoon person and I thought it would either be goofy or just straight satire, but Bojack is a full EXPERIENCE. You will go on a journey delving deep into a richly complex take on what it is to be human (even though he’s a horse!).

You can really tell that the writers put a lot of thought into the impact of the messages they were putting out in the world. You should definitely check it out, even if you don't react to it. That being said, there is definitely a YouTube audience that I've seen follow every reactor to this show.

Genuinely the show I have rewatched the most times. Incredibly layered and complex characters, a fascinating, subversive take on the genre of an adult animated series. First season is just the ground work, you’re definitely in for it though if you stick through the growing pains of that first season.

I rarely cry at shows, but this one has made me cry at least once per season. It's also made me laugh like crazy. It can be very heavy at times, and season 1 can be hard to get into at first, but just give it some time. It REALLY comes into it's own after that and is consistent throughout. It actively changed my perspective on a lot of things. I really hope you'll give it a shot. <3

It's like the antithesis of The Good Place or Ted Lasso (not that such is a bad thing! just that you definitely have to be prepared)
