Comments

😂😂

Franklin

Will in darkmode like this really has Hannibal rubbing his hands together like a gross little fly lmaoo

mercury

oh THAT little rat! Yeahhhhh must be protected at all costs

Franklin

I'm at 1:25:00. Kevin fan club here. If they kill that little rat I'm DONE lol. Omg it's so cute. Horse kick mullet dude and his little rat are everything.

The Existential Shrew

For real

Franklin

Messed up lol

Franklin

I like this a lot. Especially the part about them not condoning and agreeing

Franklin

dawg! I still got a full season plus of this shit to see. My brain can't even imagine all the wild things I'll see in season 3

Franklin

exactly! him alone survived

Franklin

god i'm literally waiting for this season's finale on some fiend shit

Nyfe of closegood

Don't know if Frank is ready to know that both Bryan Fuller & many Fannibals refer to this as a "Turducken"

CatsEyeWatching

Fun fact(?): Randall's last name, Tier, means 'animal' in German

Sólveig

This, 10000%

Charlie Ito

I can't believe Squid made a cameo in Hannibal. I saw him in that scene as the last cat still hanging around the guy's barn.

Noct

Woman comes out of horse, bird comes out of woman... Just a series of events making Frank more and more flabbergasted.

Noct

I love Peter's character so much.

Ayo Bee

I love to hate and hate to love Hannibal unfortunately

Ayo Bee

omg yeah I finally picked up on that this time around!

Ayo Bee

It's another smartly written show with plenty of interesting characters although very different in tone than Hannibal or the other dramas Frank is viewing. Jeremy is featured most heavily is Season 2 which features the Bennett crime family led by Margo Martingale in an award winning performance as the family matriarch.

CatsEyeWatching

"isn't it crazy how intimacy creates such grounds for manipulation" -Franklin the poet As for what Hannibal said earlier in the episode, I don't think Hannibal is pretending. To me, everything he says is the truth as he believes it, but it's a truth only Will would understand because only Will knows him for what he is. I think Hannibal finds a certain glee in that. To be honest and understood by someone even if they do not condone, agree, or like what he does. To an outsider, his words appear encouraging, but only he and Will know the context that reveals the truth. "You are not alone in that darkness" to me was Hannibal saying that he is there beside Will in that "darkness" that is their fucked up heads lol

Ayo Bee

Your face when the body came out the horse 🤣

Ayo Bee

I have not seen Justified. Thanks for the info

Melissa

these episodes are SO good im so excited each episode makes me want to say "this is the craziest shit i've ever seen"

Franklin

*Fun Fact* The character of animal lover Peter Bernadone in these 2 eps was named after Giovanni di Pietro Bernadone the original name of the man who became St.Francis of Assisi🥰🐁🕊️

CatsEyeWatching

Did you ever see Jeremy play Dickie Bennett on Justified? An amoral villain role, so completely different than Peter here but equally complex and a must see for Jeremy Davis fans.

CatsEyeWatching

Francesca commented in her meta post above that Hannibal’s role as a “creator” towards Will echos the Lestat/Louis vampire “child” bond. That is the only sort of fatherly vibe I am taking from Hannibal here. 🚫POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW🚫…. Also I believe airing 10 years earlier & on NBC network TV kept them from showing the full nature of the relationship as IWTV was able to do.

CatsEyeWatching

Agree 100% that the Hannibal/Will relationship here has a strong connection to Lestat/Louis one. The Vampire usually creates his “child” out of loneliness, attraction & control/possession so definitely what Hannibal is doing with Will This is absolutely fabulous meta summary of Hannibal themes up to this point! Really hope Frank reads it all. ❤️❤️

CatsEyeWatching

Sparkle: That makes me think of Dexter (if you've seen it). I can understand your interpretation.

Melissa

Love these eps, glad you’re loving the show

X Jae

"Whatever happened, happened." 😊 I really like Faraday too.

Ninaofthe90s

Agreed, and coming from an artist who paints portraits, very fitting.

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

francesca

I felt the same about Daniel Farraday.

Melissa

I did because i feel Hannibal sees Will as his "creation" so a father in the way that he's creating him and guiding him

sparkle

Ladies, we're all in agreement. 💋

Melissa

I always feel like he's about to kiss Will in that scene.

Melissa

Ditto.

Melissa

Ok tho your Aussie greeting to Lestat SENT ME 🤣🤣🤣

Amanda Winstead

Yeah, that's not exactly the vibe I got from that either 👀

Amanda Winstead

Love your reactions! Thanks for posting Hannibal <3

Masha

In épisode 9 I think there is also an analogy between Will & Hannibal's relationship and Peter talking about how a wolf and bear can hunt together and have friendship

Eosss

That was such a lovely perspective about seeing actors from shows who are older now I loved that…

Bridge

Gideon was Hannibal‘s creation. Remember, he called him to warn him. The FBI was coming. Hannibal already picked out Will as his next project, the blonde Doctor who came to visit Will and said she believed in Will, was also Hannibal‘s project, each and everyone was Hannibal‘s project, the young heiress who’s wanting to kill her brother is a new project, knowing that Jack has been involved since the beginning. I’m not certain whether or not he is just not worth Hannibal‘s time to be a “project“ but since the beginning, each person in the chain of events have all been Hannibal‘s creations, all leading to break Will down, get him into prison to manipulate him from a crystals. They were all to serve to feed Hannibal’s God complex.

Laura Thate

The disappointment in your voice when you said “what’s inside that horse?” followed by that deadpan look into the camera had me laughing out loud 🤣

Valaree

Will's new CLEAN fit? Well, he did tell Jack he was a good fisherman, lol . We're all witnesses to Will becoming a human honey-trap for Hanny. From Will's own lips: "[My] lure is the one thing he wants despite everything he knows..." [Insert Megan Thee Stallion snake tongue sound]

NotGoodyProctor

OMG Hannibal smiling at Will and holding his face like a proud father made me feel physically ill. Sooo creepy.

sparkle

I don't even like to categorize characters into good or evil when I'm watching TV shows. Now in my private life I have strong morals, but I'm able to set them aside for fictional characters. If you look at some of the shows and characters I love -GoT, Hannibal, Lost, Mad Men and many more...the characters I love the most aren't very nice 😂 (there are some exceptions of course). I also don't want them to hurt my other favorites, but I guess that's a part of it.

Ninaofthe90s

I hear you. I’ll often root for the most interesting or charismatic character, regardless of “good/evil”. I don’t want them to hurt the other characters I like, but I want them to have max screen time.

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

100%!! I feel very protective of Peter.

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

100% agree!

Olivia

nope, I could never ever hate Hannibal. 😊 He's one of my favorite characters of all time. I just love smart, intelligent, competent characters like him. That also have a lot of depth. Very often they happen to be villains, antagonists or antiheros. But characters like that are far more interesting to me. I also don't ever hate characters unless they are badly written. 👍🙂

Ninaofthe90s

dont know if ‘father’ is how i would describe hannibals feelings towards will but he is definitely proud of him 🤣

Olivia

The vulnerability he is able to convey in his characters is chefs kiss.

Melissa

Both. It depends on the situation and episode.

Melissa

NOT a spoiler just info: Margot Verger IS pretty suddenly introduced, and I understand why you felt like you missed an episode. Because it's a storyline from the books, I think the show writers felt they didn't need a slower, smoother intro to her. Her brother that she discusses with Hannibal in therapy is part of her story, too. Just wanted you to know you didn't miss anything.

Melissa

Fun trivia: the bird that escaped the horse woman’s corpse was a STARLING (like Clarice Starling) and Jack Crawford watches it escape, and later you see Hannibal with a SHEEP (both are an homage to The Silence of the LAMBs). The show has the rights to all of the books except for The Silence of the Lambs, so they insert nods to that canon when they can (because they can’t cover those storylines directly).

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

i am very much in agreement with the persons comment from the beginning because im at the point now in my many rewatches where i just love seeing all that hannibal is capable of and every move he makes to keep himself from getting caught, something that i found incredibly frustrating at first and something that i am now in awe of

Olivia

Peter is such a great character, too!

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

Do you hate-hate Hannibal, or love to hate Hannibal? (ETA: Hannibal the character, not the show.)

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

This episode has my fav guest star -- Jeremy Davies who plays Peter Bernadone. I love the actor so much. He was one of my favs on LOST. 🤩
