Important for TV show viewers/commenters💛
Added 2025-01-12 19:45:11 +0000 UTCHey fam,
I know I sound like a broken record, so I apologize if this is not the first time you've heard this. I'm just sharing this so that all of us can coexist better. I say this with the most Love and Respect. Please LET ME GET LOST in the SHOWS and CHARACTERS! Some comments might not seem like spoilers, but they hint at one direction or the other. And that takes away the sense of wonder I might be feeling and anticipating. If I feel a way about the plot, dislike a character, or feel a certain way towards them - 8 times out of 10 it may very well be what the writers intended the viewers to feel at that point in the story. So please let me get lost in the sauce.
A lot of the shows I watch are so well written that my opinion can change with just one sentence, and recontextualize the whole show in an instant. I don't have to be spoon-fed some things prematurely. Trust that the shows you love so much will enlighten me when the time comes. Of course, still feel free to comment on things that might add to my overall enjoyment and understanding of things in the moment. But only if the story doesn't do that for me later. Always love reading your comments.
I would so much appreciate it if those comments could be saved for later when I'm done with the show, or when the reveal happens. Then we can create a whole comment thread and have long chats about how the show misdirected me and all that good stuff. With this reaction gig, all the confusion, realizations, wonder and anticipation is what makes it so interesting to watch. Comments like these might rob the viewers and me of all that.
How can you help?
If you come across a comment like this. If you feel like it - You can reply to that comment saying something like "This might be exposing some future events for Frank" or any other respectful way of telling someone that their comments might be hinting or revealing future events.
EDIT *
If you wish to discuss spoilers with other patrons in the comments, I encourage it. Just add a *spoiler* tag on top of your comment and I will happily skip it. I love seeing you all interact with each other in the comment section.
Again I say all this with all due respect and love. Peace y'all💐

Damn. That's all sad that she doesn't interact with the comments anymore

2025-01-14 07:20:18 +0000 UTCI try to keep my comments restricted to what happens in the episodes but I'll be even more careful. Last thing I want is to ruin your fun of seeing this stuff relatively unfiltered. The whole point is to see your reactions as a new viewer and not kill the vibes.

2025-01-13 06:15:32 +0000 UTCI marked my last Hannibal comment as having episode spoilers for anyone who's just watching for the 1st time, I don't think I spoiled anything for the future but sorry if I accidentally did, it definitely wasn't intentional though.

2025-01-12 22:29:17 +0000 UTCNikki and Steven. Ted Lasso is a PRIME example of a show that gets exactly the types of comments Frank is referring to and I'm pretty sure it was the same when he was watching it. People simply do not understand how stuff like saying "you'll love _____" when it's season 1 and they're currently an a**hole is a spoilery. How do you not see that?

2025-01-12 22:14:36 +0000 UTCEven though I’d already seen you say this, it’s still a good reminder for all of us !! Sometimes we get so carried on and so excited at our faves reacting to stuff we love that we forget it’s your first time watching it. Take your time and hopefully you keep enjoying watching and sharing with us. Never lose the spark and sensibility you have it’s truly special and unique. 🫶🏻

2025-01-12 21:33:40 +0000 UTCI never understood why people feel the need to expose things or hint towards things that will happen. I don't even really like when people give their favorite seasons. Just let people watch without bias. Commenting on the episode they just watched or one they previously saw? Perfectly fine. Anything else is unnecessary.

2025-01-12 20:50:55 +0000 UTCI hope people stop commenting spoilers. I don't want you to have to go the same route as FunnyLilGalReacts (I don't blame her though). She just doesn't read comments anymore. Some people don't get that saying things like "that persons character arc is the best" or "I hated that person to begin with but I love them now" while not saying anything about the storyline, it sets your expectations for that particular character. This is why any time I comment on anyones reaction video it will always be with fun facts about the actors or filming of that movie or episode or positive feedback.

2025-01-12 20:45:52 +0000 UTCYes, exactly! I don’t want to watch a “perfect” reaction. I want someone else’s unique biased take. If I want someone to react perfectly the way I would, I can just rewatch the media myself.

2025-01-12 20:34:53 +0000 UTCTrue true. Very good points about the spoiler tag and communicating with other patrons. I'll add that into the message.

2025-01-12 20:31:26 +0000 UTCIt can be hard, when you’re watching with someone and they miss a hint, or they don’t see a character you love the same way you do. Everyone is going to bring different context to a show. Parts may resonate with them differently than they did with you. I watch reactions to get that other perspective on a piece of art, and to recapture the feeling of seeing something for the first time. Part of that experience is misunderstanding, theorizing, and working through initial impressions. If you lead Frank or drop him hints or try to reassure him about the direction the story’s going, you’re losing out on your one opportunity to get HIS fresh reaction. You’re denying him that experience of discovery. Post it with spoiler tags and other patrons will happily discuss with you, and then Frank can come look through those comments once he’s seen the show. Remember: watching people be wrong is fun!

2025-01-12 20:26:23 +0000 UTCI will never understand why people feel the need to overshare, spoil or push their opinions about a film onto other people. I feel like I’m always in the comments (especially with the people who read the Game of Thrones books ) trying to get people to delete their biased or TMI comments. Maybe can you find someone/people who’ve already seen the films to screen the comments before read them.

2025-01-12 20:23:53 +0000 UTCUnfortunately you’re probably going to have to make a post like this every couple of months, especially if your subscribers continue to grow. 🙁 Some people just don’t think. Whether it’s “just wait until episode 8 when you find out why so and so did this” or an outright spoiler like when you were told about a certain character being killed off. (That even had me shook because *who* does that!?) Some people just get lost in the sauce and don’t take a couple of minutes to think “Should I say this?” before typing and hitting send.

2025-01-12 20:15:37 +0000 UTCimo you should be able to pin this post to the top of every single comment section. even when i watch stuff by myself, getting spoiled and/or pushed in a certain direction by a random comment can change the entire experience for me - oftentimes for the worse. i hope folks catch on eventually. i of course understand wanting someone else to love a character/story beat as much as (or the way) they themselves do, but trying to coax you there..... idk, we want authenticity from our reactors, don't we?

2025-01-12 20:15:31 +0000 UTCThere is a husband and wife couple that are currently reacting to Ted Lasso. At the start of episode 2, they told their audience to come up with a nickname for us, as a group. Nearly EVERYONE suggested The Diamond Dogs, which I felt was a spoiler. It kind of pissed me off.

2025-01-12 20:12:06 +0000 UTCYou'd think it'd be common sense for people to not talk about anything other than the episode you currently reacted to.. it's so frustrating reading comments sometimes 😭
