Lailah Johnson

That's awesome. Welcome back. I hope you love every bit of it

Franklin

I was here for Ted Lasso and stopped my membership bcuz I’ve been travelling too much to have time to watch but so happy to be back! And a Gus cameo my first 5 mins back just made my day❤️

Aslaug Sofie Ogilvie

I LOVE Derry girls can’t wait for your reaction this and the good place are two of my favourite shows

Izzy Griffiths

One of the best sitcom endings, ever. More impressive thot it was the pilot episode. Oh, and another comedy that might be a good palet cleanser is Brooklyn 99. It’s silly, but damn funny. Andrea Braugher is perfect! It’s a shame he’s no longer with us.

Christina H

She is my favorite. She has a series on Disney + , Renegade Nell. She plays some. 18th century England, she is framed for murder and becomes the most notorious highway man. I liked it, quite fun.

Christina H

Derry man here! Love seeing people react to our little town and all its stories! Glad you’re enjoying it, nothing like being Irish ❤️

Luke Browne

One of my favourite Irish things is actually when someone asks Michelle a question and she goes "Did I fuck?!". This is a very common way of saying no I absolutely did not!

Kim D

Happy to help 🙂

Kim D

Yes! If you've seen season 2 of Bridgerton, you've seen her bust out her real Irish accent in a few scenes

Rhiannon

Yes! She’s such a dynamic actor.

Amanda Hill

smh this man was really trying to take me out😂

Franklin

I feel you. That's a great idea I'll look up some history on it

Franklin

Safe travels✌🏾

Franklin

Enjoy. Holy smokes that's the lady from Bridgeton. I thought I recognized her

Franklin

I've been laughing to that face for years. and mind you, he's purring so loud doing that

Franklin

But got to be one of the coolest pet names I've ever heard

Franklin

Thanks for all that info. The context helps

Franklin

I love how our pets keep us on our toes. Holy hell only six episodes per season? I'm shocked

Franklin

Appreciate it

Franklin

Thank you. That helps a lot

Franklin

Noted. She's so funny

Franklin

Thanks . I'm definitely going to need your assistance with a lot of the slangs in this show. No I haven't heard of normal people. I'll give it a look.

Franklin

Since this is a re (re- re-) watch for me, I've been doing that - her and James as well - they are both amazing to watch in the background!

Rhiannon

5 mins in and I feel the need to enlighten you with some stuff 😄 Wains mean children or kids. Knackered is really tired. Bokey is feeling sick. To boke would be to get sick. Sláinte is cheers in Irish. In bits means feeling really bad or being hungover. Bob Geldoff is an Irish singer responsible for Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas. And yeah, some basic info on the political state at the time could help your understanding but it's not that necessary. There are many many different Irish accents - the main one in this is of course the Derry one. Andrew Scott (Fleabag and All of Us Strangers) has a Southside Dublin accent 🙂 Glad you're enjoying the show so much. Can't wait to see you react to more 😊 Also, have you heard of Normal People? It's another Irish show but more of a drama. It's really brilliant. I think you'd really appreciate the characters and story. It's where Paul Mescal (All of Us Strangers and Gladiator 2) got his start. Oh and it's only 1 season of 12 episodes which means it's a nice short watch

Kim D

Definitely! Her reactions and faces etc are brilliant

Kim D

I would recommend keeping an eye out for Orla in the background of pretty much every scene. Louisa Harland (actress who plays her) does a great job of making me laugh even when she's not involved directly!

Sahil F

Just FYI since I think you missed it in the subtitles but Orla and Erin are cousins, not sisters. Orla and her mom (the ditzy brunette that was talking about not being able to go tanning because of the bomb threat) lives with them though, as does the grandfather.

Tammy S

Love the reaction just one thing. Joe is Mary and Sarah's dad. Mary is Erin's mom. And Sarah is Orla's mom. So Orla and Erin are cousins,. Erin's sister is the baby.

Pam R

It's so true! 😂

Rhiannon

I'm already bummed in anticipation of this ending hahahaha it's going to go by so quick, especially since there are only 6 eps a season! 😭

Rhiannon

Nothing sounds as odd as if you try to explain your own nation’s ads to other people. Like, they ran these car ads for about ten years where the only dialogue was “Papa!” “Nicole?” (or sometimes “Papa?” “Nicole!”) and when they made the last one it was an homage to The Graduate in which Nicole revolutionarily said “Bob!” and ran away from her wedding to one half of 1998’s biggest comedy double act with the other half of the double act. And it was a very big deal!

Leticia

I love all the 90s references and music! I'm glad for the explanation on that one though, as I'm from the US. There was a VW ad from the 90s with this song that just went Da Da Da - that was a big one here 😂

Rhiannon

Love that you loved it!!! The Gus jump scare at the beginning was so funny - I'm the opposite, there have been too many times in my life when I've looked down at my lap and there's a cat there and I'm like..... hello? When did you get here? hahahahah (had cats my whole life)

Rhiannon

Definitely one of the funniest shows ever!!! Yeah, agreed, a little background on that would probably help with some context - although, you can get the gist from context clues.

Rhiannon

Ooh, I’m excited about this! I still haven’t watched the last season of Derry Girls because I meant to rewatch the previous seasons before I did, but the last season came out in 2022 so I was clearly not getting round to it without a nudge. The whole Nicole thing is a reference to a long running series of car adverts in the UK starring a French father and daughter who basically just said said “Papa” and “Nicole” to each other and drove a Renault Clio around picturesque French roads. It sounds mad but they were weirdly huge culturally in the 90s and among all the excellent 90s references in the series that set the period, this is perhaps the most perfect. And I’m glad you love Clare, because she is my favourite.

Leticia

My orange fluff ball Benny Bjorn (named after the men in ABBA) says hello to the very regal Gus 🐱

Bethany that's me

Gus's face during your intro of him had me rollin

marcyplace

I’ve never watched this but have always wanted to, especially because I love Nicola Coughlan. I’m excited to watch with you!

Amanda Hill

It’s late now and I’m traveling tomorrow so it’s a bit busy but I wanted to come here to say how happy I am that this is up 😍😍

Francisca Bastos

ahhhh im so glad you are reacting to this its one of the funniest shows ive ever watched ( as an irish person i may be biased but its just amazing ) 🫶 this is also set in the 90s during a period of time known as the troubles which would be worth googling if you wanted a bit more info on everything thats happening at the time and why everyone hates the fact that james is english!

Olivia

Fantastic! Just got to Gus jumpscaring you, with a beginning like that I know it’s going to be a good one 😂

Freya Murphy

Heck yeah. I really like it. My jaw hurts a little bit from all the laughing 😂

Franklin

I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for this to come out since you posted that it made the reaction list! Hope you enjoy it!

Freya Murphy
