But yeah Hannibal...when I get my hands on you...I think the scene with Bella was actually really sad because I saw her POV of wanting to avoid indignity but poor Jack. I love Beverly, her death was so brutal I hated Hannibal for a long time after.

2025-01-03 02:09:31 +0000 UTCAgreed, Hannibal was fine with either coin side winning the flip. Hannibal didn’t really “save” Bella, he prolonged her dying to mess with Jack and keep Jack distracted. But if the coin had landed on the other side, I think Hannibal would have let Bella die because Jack would be equally distracted mourning her. Hannibal loves controlled chaos; I compare him to Little Finger in Game of Thrones. So I guess this show is like… Game of Cannibals (though this franchise predates ASOIAF).

2025-01-02 23:49:35 +0000 UTCI feel like Hannibal basically driving Bella to suicide then chooses to save for, not only for his amusement - because I think he could still think of other ways to do this second purpose - but also to gain an upper hand with Jack. Jack only wants Bella to live, so Hannibal saving Bella would be seen as a favor in his eyes. Hannibal will gain more good points from Jack, which he needs given he knows both Will and Bevelry are on to him. And god (in the show) definitely loves him because they give him another good luck (read: catching Bevelry in his house).

Like this woman in Ep 4, the compulsion is so strong she doesn't see it as wrong at all. Some others know it's wrong, but they don't care about it because of their compulsion. Meanwhile Hannibal, he does have a compulsion still, but he's fully aware of what his actions me and where it stands on morality chart. And he believes he's different from those other killers - thus he looks down on them - because he can control it. I haven't watched Hannibal for so long so I forget if he really does
