ikr i was like wait is he being paid? lolll

this episode is AMAZING. i distinctly remember loving the morpheus hannibal fight scene so much bc it was so cathartic. so excited to keep watching more CINEMA w/your amazing insights. i'm getting so much more out of it now and seeing things I didn't see before which is so awesome. happy holidays!

I don't think Hannibal is wearing a mask in front of Will actually. He's obviously not going to say anything outwardly incriminating in such a public space, (esp when you later see that Chilton is listening to every convo) but they're both aware of the truth. Everything they say to one another is veiled. Will says what he says to "hurt"/goad Hannibal and Hannibal says what he says in order to convince Will that he should accept his unique mind. Manipulating one another. "Your inner voice can give you control of your behavior" right after Will just said his inner voice was Hannibal.

Get your wife and yourself some good waders. Go fishing together. Make a lil date of it.

Noct

😭Give Will Graham a vacation from looking at corpses please!

Valaree

This is great. "If I want to win, I have to cheat" - Mads 🤣

Melissa

It always gets me that Will was literally in prison and he still couldn't catch a break from the job. They had him working from inside a prison.

Akaash Sidhu

He really was! Word on the street is that Bryan Fuller took inspiration from the Loustat relationship for Hannibal and Will's complex dynamic, and he was originally attached to iwtv early in pre-production. The two shows go together so well!

Here’s a behind the scenes bit about the fight, if you’re interested. I watched it twice to make sure there’s no spoilers. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WSjgQa_jd30&pp=ygUhSGFubmliYWwgZmlnaHQgamFjayBiZWhpbmQgc2NlbmVz Edited to add: The video doesn't mention that the fight scene was the actors' idea (I heard that on a podcast with the show's creator and producer). It focuses on what it was like for the actors to film, and is just under 2 min long.

Yeah I understand 100%. I’m pretty sure I also felt like that when I watched it for the first time. You can not be an empathetic person and see him torture others psychologically and be okay with that. I just think multiple viewings desensitized me into seeing him in a more humorous light.

I love this way too much such a cool fact

Franklin

Likewise likewise. Excited to share it with you. The fight was amazing and surprising

Franklin

I think when I'm done with the show I'll be able to see his out-of-pocket Behavior as humorous. But for now, it's just annoying and appalling as hell. This man was literally crying lol Yeah that moment when Will was denying Hannibal's friendship was definitely Louie denying Lestat's love and twisting the knife. Crazy work

Franklin

Will was really giving Louie energy at that moment😂

Franklin

Thanks for sharing

Franklin

If no one has mentioned this before I want to point out the show's food stylist, Janice Poon. Great Big Story did a video on her. The only real spoilers are 4:03-4:38 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lNNIFdxaTg

NOT FOR FRANKLIN -- JUST IN CASE: 🚨🚨🚨🚨 I've moved on to watching S3 (again). I'm not saying it's bad, but I will say this after years gone by since it aired: S3 is self-indulgent to the point of frustration IMO. I don't recall feeling this on first watch. I just ended the first half of S3 so I'm transitioning into the RD storyline . . . hopefully, I'll feel differently. I really disliked the first half in a lot of ways. It made me think for the first time ever that I understand why it was cancelled. However!! -- I will come back to these ideas after I finish the 2nd half. I love the RD storyline probably more than any of them (from the books), but I don't recall how this one plays out precisely. Looking forward to re-experiencing it.

19:18 Not you calling Will Louis! 😱😱😱

I just started the episode and I have to pause to say: this show is not considered a prequel to the movies. They are both based on the same intellectual property, but you cannot make assumptions about the destiny of any of the characters based on what happens to them in the movie series. Not sure if anyone's pointed that out to Taco yet, but I'll keep my eye out for it.

This season has so many great artistic scenes and great dialogue and conversations, and the background music suits the show perfectly (especially the S3 finale final scene has music by one of my favorite artists, they came out of retirement just to do a song for the last scene). Someone will probably warn you at some point but the S2 and S3 finales both have short but fairly important after-credits scenes.

absolutely find it hilarious that Hannibal was all smirky and proud of his grand plan at the end of last season but now he's realized that locking Will up means he is LOCKED UP and cannot be with him as freely as he was before. like he really is all pouty and sad that HIS own actions had consequences. I don't know if it's because I've seen this show multiple times, but he is so funny to me. every single thing he does is so incomprehensible to my puny generic human mind that I don't even judge him like I would any other character. That man is out of pocket 99% of the time, he just hides it well. What a freaky little man loll. P.S.. absolutely loved the reaction as always Frank, hopefully, you had a nice break. Also not you calling Will Louis 😭😭😭

i was so hoping the fight scene was in this episode! i couldn’t remember if it was the beginning of the season or just the beginning of the episode it’s in, but im so happy you got to see it now, it’s a great scene. my favorite episode of the show is in this season, and i love this season overall, so im so excited to see the rest of it with you!

des williams

True fact: The fight scene with Jack and Hannibal happened because Lawrence and Mads were like, you guys know we’ve both filmed a lot of fight scenes, right? And the writers were like, YESSSSSS!!! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!
