This week🎬
Added 2024-12-18 01:09:48 +0000 UTCWe're back! I can't lie I've missed yall. Watching shows/movies and sharing it with y'all. I can't wait to jump back into it. If you haven't voted on the latest TV show poll, this is the time to do it. I'm starting one of the new shows next week. And the other shortly after. I'm taking things up a couple of gears. As promised double episodes are coming your way. 3-4 episodes for shorter TV shows. Hopefully, this will cut the time of finishing TV shows by half, and on to the next. And obviously, more for you all. Movie reactions are still going to be done once a week. Happy December!❄️

2024-12-19 19:55:34 +0000 UTChi!! I know this has nothing to do with your post but I just wanted to recommend a series that I've been obsessed with lately in case you ever want to react to it! It's called "strangers from hell" and it's like korean version of hannibal but more raw (? idk how to describe it) and more focused on the psychological thriller! It's amazing, I love it sm, I hope you give it a chance someday bc i love your reactions!!

2024-12-19 17:12:28 +0000 UTCLike everything else, it's about money, prestige -- which means focus on test scores. 🤷♀️

2024-12-18 12:10:22 +0000 UTCThe lesson for me was more of a reinforcement of what I knew all along but higher ups and the education system were trying to beat it out of me --- it's the kids that matter: their curiosity, creativity, bravery. Every single one of them has promise and deserves to know they're cared for as individuals. I learned that it was up to me (and it was one of my gifts) to make a safe space for my students to be who they are without judgment. Their learning is dependent on that. 📚

2024-12-18 11:48:34 +0000 UTCCritical lesson in business? Follow your heart. As a student who went through college and law school all on merit scholarships and who worked as an attorney in one of the biggest world wide law firms, by FAR the best thing I ever did was open my Tea Room/art gallery/music venue/art film theatre in Chicago. Even tho I spent a lot of time washing dishes, waiting tables, and making tea for people, hands down NO CONTEST it's the best thing I've ever done. I was so happy and everyone involved was happy. (At the law firm... Yeah...not happy! 😂)

2024-12-18 02:24:34 +0000 UTCWhat I’ve learned from running a small 100 year old family business, is that there is still a deep longing out there for caring, personal service & knowledgeable salespeople that can no longer be found at most larger stores, whether online or “bricks & motor” Also, if you treat your Sales people with respect & consideration for their own lives outside of your business you will be repaid with loyalty & far less turnover. A happy staff ultimately leads to happier customers & a better business

2024-12-18 01:51:34 +0000 UTCI work at a small, locally owned business that sells custom embroidered scrubs, mainly for Veterinary Clinics all over the world. Also many zoos and wildlife sanctuaries. I do all the Sea World orders (those are a nightmare, so huge!) Veterinarians, much like some medical doctors, can sometimes be asshats. But their practice managers are worse. They can be rude, interrupt you, swear even, it’s a lot to take. But what I’ve learned is when people sound unfriendly or angry on the phone .. I will talk even nicer than usual. Eventually, most of the time, they hear themselves (of that makes sense?) instead of sounding angry or annoyed myself, by talking very calmly and polite and nice .. it exaggerates their behaviour and they will usually tone it down, and even apologise some times. As Mary Poppins says .. a spoonful of sugar …. Oh, we did have one “lovely” “lady” in Winchester VA, call to complain about her logo being wrong. It wasn’t wrong. We did it exactly as she had requested and we have it in writing and she approved the order before we started. Anyway … she wasn’t having it. She wanted her whole order replaced (like $3,000) because we did the logo colors precisely as she asked but she didn’t like them. We’d even sent her a scan of an embroider sample, and she approved it. My friend was on the phone with her and we could hear her shouting through the headset. My friend is very quiet and calm always. Lady wouldn’t shut up or let the rep speak, so she muted her mic and put her on speaker phone. After about 30 seconds of her ranting and swearing she said, very loudly “I should grab my shot gun and come up there and shoot you all.” 😳 I mean, we should have called the police. We are up in Michigan so we were safe, for now. Our companies owner called the clinic and asked to speak to the DVM/owner. She told him what his manager said and he called her a liar 😂😂 Why would we lie about that? Anyway, we never replaced her things and we refuse to take orders from them. We lost some business but it’s better than the abuse she always gave us. She is the exception to the “spoon full of sugar rule…” Crazy chica!

2024-12-18 01:45:23 +0000 UTCWelcome back!! From work I’ve learned: When something requires making technical decisions, hinting or beating around the bush won’t get you anywhere. If you need something from someone you have to tell them, clearly, what you want. I used to offer “suggestions” and try to gently lead people to coming to the right solution on their own… it ends up wasting their time. If you know the answer, just tell them what to do. Eventually you’ll get a reputation for giving good advice and people will start seeking you out for help.

2024-12-18 01:15:15 +0000 UTCEvery time I take a break, it gives me new insights, I saw some ways I was using my time that weren't very productive. And just choose to allocate that time toward my goals. Tighten up the schedule, while still leaving plenty of time to rest and have fun🙏🏾
