2025-01-15 19:17:30 +0000 UTCSome fan once wrote "Putting my feminism away to call Freddie a slur" and that is forever funny to me hahahha. She does her journalism job GOOD but man, is she annoying. Also, I love the chaotic dinner in this episode. How calm everyone looks and what they are actually going through... amazing episode. Peak indeed.

2025-01-14 12:13:07 +0000 UTCFinally have time to catch up on your Hannibal reactions 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 idk if anyone in future videos has already commented this….. but the dynamics of hannibal/will/abigail being reminiscent of lesat/louis/claudia is somewhat intentional! bryan fuller, the creator, has said that there were conscious and unconscious references to the IWTV family! I also believe he was attached to IWTV in the very beginning before leaving due to creative differences 🫣

2024-12-04 04:54:01 +0000 UTCSo good. I saw it back when I was in college

2024-11-26 02:14:19 +0000 UTCi agree with you, she's always been a victim so true. As long as the people and the fans see the greatness. That's all that matters. Awards are not everything
Franklin
2024-11-26 02:13:59 +0000 UTCaww thanks

2024-11-26 02:10:44 +0000 UTCthis show is so good!!! i love your commentary. this is a fun one to rewatch

2024-11-19 05:17:35 +0000 UTCFor me, it doesn't change much because Abigail is still a victim. She basically went from capture bonding with her father to capture bonding with Hannibal, all so she can survive. Hannibal saw she can be pretty resourceful and manipulative when she's in a pinch thus he's grooming her. After all this episode is about "securing your legacy". That old man failed to secure his, but Hannibal succeeded. I didn't see it when I first watched Hannibal years ago, but I do see now he really cares about Abigail to some degree. But I wonder when he started to genuinely care about her, because I still believe she was his bait to bond Will to her at first. I didn't pick it up. Anyway, Hannibal didn't sweep Emmys or anything back then, but it's a cult classic and got awards from genre-focused award ceremonies. Similar thing to The Wire. Probably the same thing will happen to IWTV as well cos AMC don't have the budget to do award campaigns but the show is a critics' darling and the fandom keeps growing.

2024-11-18 07:12:29 +0000 UTC@FrankFreezy I recommend the show "the blacklist" with James Spader.

2024-11-18 03:39:04 +0000 UTCIt's just this idea of the characters being so complex and not black and white that I find very refreshing. Can't wait to see what future episode holds
Franklin
2024-11-17 15:52:08 +0000 UTCwhy? I'm sure I spend a lot of time in every episode explaining my thoughts. please don't try to police how I feel about certain characters or certain things. It's okay if we view it differently
Franklin
2024-11-17 15:47:30 +0000 UTCI think anytime we believe Hannibal is fucking up, its probably him manipulating us so we become a tastier entree for his next dinner party. I'm like 99% sure he was the one who unburied that damn body just so he could put Will and Abagail through it and observe what happens.

2024-11-17 00:39:19 +0000 UTCFRANKLIN!!! I need to talk about the finale. 😲🤯

2024-11-16 22:18:38 +0000 UTCOooo I was going to suggest you add Severance to the list of more serious watches. I’d love to see you react to that!

2024-11-16 21:15:34 +0000 UTCthat's also a good point. But I still think it was weird that she would think about that the moment she woke up. It makes more sense to me that she thought about what she did, not what her dad did. And it horrified her so much that she woke up. Also Alana told us very early on that she can be very manipulative 🙂

2024-11-16 19:12:51 +0000 UTCit's so interesting to hear your feeling in the beginning of this episode and some other past ones that Hannibal is being genuine and not dishonest, manipulative or contradicting his own actions as Will becomes vulnerable. this story and its characters are so well crafted and there's so much depth, and layers of meaning, I think you'll continue to enjoy it even after you've already watched the whole series.

2024-11-16 19:00:11 +0000 UTCI usually hear mindhunter spoken in the same space with True Detective season 1. Just added it to the list. Severance on my list too
Franklin
2024-11-16 17:54:59 +0000 UTCOh yes indeed. I'm watching the finale tonight

2024-11-16 17:53:28 +0000 UTCI wish I could binge it too. But at the same time it's so heavy He also to get down back when it came out when I was in college.

2024-11-16 17:52:54 +0000 UTClol there's a whole # for Will Graham?😂 our boy is really going through it. haha yap Jack was fucking right😅

2024-11-16 17:51:44 +0000 UTCI totally know what you mean
Franklin
2024-11-16 17:50:21 +0000 UTCI like that perspective a lot and I agree 100%. He knew she couldn't make that transition from animals to humans, made her believe she would be next if she didn't go hunt other girls for him. It's diabolical
Franklin
2024-11-16 17:49:53 +0000 UTCIt was absolutely self defense. I never thought that maybe he told her that to mess with her -- wow. Always more layers with this show. I will say that even if it was more of a gutting, I would defend her as she was reacting on autopilot to defend herself. 🤷♀️
Melissa
2024-11-16 17:47:19 +0000 UTCAh! I stand corrected then. I mostly remember that there was a lot of blood. Many thanks!

2024-11-16 16:36:34 +0000 UTCThat she definitely looked very comforting
Franklin
2024-11-16 16:27:19 +0000 UTCThank you. I always want to make sure I consume the scene to the best of my ability and take it all in, that way I can stand behind anything I say. And of course when I'm wrong and I don't have a problem admitting I was. I just rewatched the scene to be sure. She stabbed him once and pulled the knife out. I personally won't call that butcher. I think Hannibal just said that to make her feel worse than it was. Easier to reel her in that way. I would also call it self defense honestly because she was clearly running away before he grabbed and pinned her to the wall. And from everything we now know about her involvement with the murders, for all she knew, he was there to kill her. 100% the story has only gotten more intense and better as we age towards the finale. I'm locked in. thank you
Franklin
2024-11-16 16:26:57 +0000 UTCHe did an amazing job with this. Can't wait for all the greatness to come. Thank you thank you😃
Franklin
2024-11-16 16:14:20 +0000 UTCGood point. She definitely fooled me. If I'm remembering correctly, I think the story she told was that her father whispered in her ear before he cut her throat.
Franklin
2024-11-16 16:12:54 +0000 UTCI also suggested it. Shame there are only two seasons but the show is amazing!
Schniien
2024-11-16 15:07:33 +0000 UTCI don't think Abigail ever fooled me. I remember when she was in a coma at the beginning after her father nearly killed her and she woke up after thinking about her dad and her in the cabin and the animal on the table turned into a human head with human hair. But how is that possible - When she woke up she wasn't even supposed to know what her father did at that point. So it was obvious she knew more than she told everyone.

2024-11-16 14:52:57 +0000 UTCIf you think Hannibal is great peak TV now, just wait! No spoilers, but each season ends with final episodes that are mini masterpieces of acting and cinematography. Bryan Fuller is the mad genius/ showrunner who contributed most to the unique murder "tableaus" and dark humor in the show. Love your appreciation of this and other overlooked gems🥰

2024-11-16 13:43:01 +0000 UTCI think she stabs and guts him like you would an animal -- as learned from her father.

2024-11-16 11:44:48 +0000 UTCi love that u rewind the scenes u dont understand/miss! its much better than just powering through and being confused throughout. that said, i miss the subtitles but i do understand that they were being wonky anyone can correct me on this, but i do think abigail stabbed nicholas boyle more than once? like many times? but im not sure if my memory is correct edit: i feel like the story keeps getting better and better the more it inches towards the finale! i already cant wait for the next episode. thank you for this!!

2024-11-16 10:41:10 +0000 UTCnot to be dramatic but a hug from hannibal/mads mikkelsen would fix me

2024-11-16 10:04:13 +0000 UTCIf we go back to the first scenes with Abigail and her father where he is teaching her to hunt deer, even though you can see, she doesn’t want to kill the deer, you can see her uncomfortable as she has to dress down a deer now imagine you have been this man’s child since birth And as you have been growing, he has had his eyes on you training you grooming you to become his emotional protégé in the skills of killing all the while he knew you when you became the “appropriate” age for him, he manipulated that child from birth to turn her into His perfect scout so he could use Abigail as his scout to enact his horrid sickening deeds upon these girls. He used Abigail‘s mind to make her believe that if she could not find the perfect girl that looked like her, she would be next. I don’t believe he ever intended to kill Abigail just mind manipulated her into becoming his perfect Huntress for his own satisfactions. He terrified her into believing she was the intended victim so that she would be so terrified that she would do exactly what she did in order to save her life. It was all a mental manipulation, from the moment that little girl was born. He saw her hesitancy in killing the deer. He saw that he could not push her into crossing the Rubicon from animal to human so he made sure she was in such fear for her own life and would be captured by her own guiltfor being him because she says “I’m monster” it has come up over and over she never wanted to be “a monster” even when she was killing a deer. Her father saw this in her, used it against her groomed, her terrorized her and she is a victim.

2024-11-16 05:33:39 +0000 UTCI do genuinely think Hannibal cares for Abigal and Will. He sees a bit of himself in them. Every scene where he is being comforting to them feels tender yet you always have that doubt at the back of your mind that he's manipulating, but I don't think he sees that as wrong if you know what I mean?

2024-11-16 03:35:46 +0000 UTCEverybody wants to give Will a hug #SaveWillGraham I love Alana and her own awareness and sympathy . Totally agree with the Interview with the Vampire comment lol. Also when you realized Jack was right had me rolling. Yes, let's watch peak!
