Which show would you love to see replace Fleabag when we're done with season 2?

If I were you, I would do a reaction to the movie Fargo - 1996, before you decide whether to do the TV series. The series has the same feel, but with new situations, setting and characters. 2024-11-26 05:09:45 +0000 UTCugh i keep not reading your whole post haha. the leftovers does have moments of levity, but yeah if you want to be a "fun, humorous comfort show" it'll be schitt's creek. that's the only one. it makes me cry from happiness. the good place IS a funny show, no doubt about that, but it deals with death and the afterlife and what it means to be a good person, so it's not quite as light as you're looking.

For more darker choices, yes to The Leftovers, but also have you seen the one season show, HBO's Watchmen? For a blend of humor and darkness, I also recommend FX's Fargo, most especially Season 2 which can be watched entirely separately from the other seasons as it is set in the past. 100% peak, no fillers!

Another great pilot episode like IWTV where you just want to keep watching. The show explores themes of relationships, family, and human interaction. It has a HUGE fan base, that actually saved it from cancellation on Fox after season 3. Netflix picked it up and ran for 3 more seasons. Still one of my favorites along with Ted Lasso and IWTV. Stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German and Kevin Alejandro and based an a DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman. Highly recommend!!

2024-11-15 01:43:00 +0000 UTCdefinitely shrinking! it’s got that same fun comforting feeling that fleabag has. even when shrinking tackles heavy themes, it’s still light-hearted while never diminishing the story being told. my favorite aspects of the show are: found family, healing, unconventional friendships, and the imperfectly perfect unity between all of them. without saying too much, i love how it challenges the notions of a typical therapist with jason segel’s character. and the debates that he and harrison ford’s character get into are such an important part of the show that i love. honestly, even though ted lasso is a favorite, shrinking supersedes it by a tiny margin for me. all the characters are so human, flawed, but ultimately lovable, and they find ways to surprise you. i’ve found so much of myself in every single one of them. the episodes are short too, so it never drags on, and it always leaves you wanting more in the best way. one of the best feel-good shows out there right now in my opinion!

It’s also got a lot of character development throughout the series. It’s a good show to watch to take a break from more serious ones on the schedule.

My joint top pick would be Derry Girls as it is hilarious. Since it only has 19 episode isn’t as long term a commitment as The Good Place, but I am not sure if that is a positive or a negative for you! And I do also love both Schitt’s Creek and Killing Eve and would totally watch them both if you did.

Shrinking is kinda like Ted Lasso in the way that it pulls your heart strings on pretty much every episode, which is awesome too ofc so it's all about what you wanna watch.
