2024-09-21 20:18:44 +0000 UTCThis is a mainstay in my top five movies of all time. Others come and go, but this one remains. It means so much to me. After I saw it in the cinema, it inspired me to start writing again after giving up the hobby during college. I think the reason for that was not just the incredible action set pieces, but the subtle yet impactful storytelling. The first thing I wrote when I got back into it was my own post-apocalyptic story set in my home country of Ireland. It was terrible, but it set me on a path to becoming an author. I know I'll come back to that story someday with the skills and knowledge I have gained through the last decade of writing. It's one of the things that brings meaning to my life and I have George Miller and all his collaborators on this movie to thank for that. What a movie. Also, the musical score is epic.

As you may know, I’m in my eighth decade on earth. The wisdom of your elders must never go unheard or untold for their history and their perseverance are like unopened old books with times stain pages with each page are beautiful jewels that should always be carried into the present so that the future may always have hope.

Miller hired her because he didn't want it to look like every other action movie. Margaret won the Oscar that year for Best Editing.
