Regarding the bird, they are notoriously sensitive to bad air. Miners used to bring canaries in their mine shafts to warn them if there are pockets of CO2 or other unbreathable air. If there was, the canary would die before the miners would even be able to tell they were breathing bad air. The miners would turn around and leave the area

My favourite movie ever! I was pumped to see you'd reacted to it, was lovely to reexperience it with you. I totally relate to the excitement in watching them learn the language. Something so satisfying in it. My rewatches are always great as knowing the twist gives an entirely different emotional impact, but I would admittedly give anything to see it for the first time again. Your reaction kind of did that in a way. Thanks Frank!

I'm glad I recently discovered him after watching Prisoners.. Freaking amazing film. i totally agree. I recently saw an interview he did with Christopher Nolan. Excellent creator. I am slowly going to watch everything he's created.

You should check out more of this director's work (Dennis Villeneuve). He recently rose to superstardom with his movies Dune and Dune part 2, but his entire movie catalogue is fantastic. He has a very visual style. He's even been quoted as saying he "hates dialogue" and wants every shot to convey as much story and world building as possible as to limit senseless exposition.

I think we absolutely loved the same thing about this movie. In every single Alien movie, the aliens are the bad guys. It gets repetitive after a couple. This was so new and fresh. It really played into the fantasy of meeting friendly visitors. You are the exact kind of person I was talking about in this reaction. Someone who studies languages and how much fun they would have watching this. Thanks for confirming that. I saw District 9 a long time ago. I remembered having a good time but I can't remember a single thing about that movie. I honestly would not mind doing a reaction to it sometime in the future. However, I will make sure to be clear that I have seen it before but just don't remember anything because I was a kid. All I can remember are bugs and their South African accents. Hopefully, I will revisit it someday. Thanks for watching and the support.

I'm so glad you watched this movie! I only saw it a couple weeks ago for the first time and was equally as blown away as you were. I had seen the trailer and the hype around the movie but I was never in the right mood to watch it. But then when I saw it, it was really really worth it. It's a beautiful story and I love how it's not the typical alien movie where the aliens are bad guys, come to destroy us. I love these as well, but it was just so refreshing how different it was. It was especially fun since I studied linguistics at university and seeing a Hollywood A++ movie with a killer cast and a killer director about language and linguistics? That was just amazing and in my head tells you how movies have evolved in the last couple decades. Action is awesome, but good storytelling is even more important. I would like to recommend another movie about aliens, if you haven't seen it already. It's called District 9 and has been my favourite alien movie since it came out. Yes, it has action and guns and explosions, but what I absolutely love about it is how it's uniquely directed and the storytelling in it. It's more about the human nature and how certain individuals in the movie grow and change in their thinking and attitude, and more. And for once it's not played in America but instead in South Africa (if I remember correctly) which was cool. If you haven't seen it, I really recommend it and would be awesome if you maybe reacted to it someday. And if you don't react to it, I really hope you watch it on your own 😊 Thanks again for a great reaction and can't wait for the next one!

This movie is so amazing. This is why I love reaction videos, I want to relive the first time I watched it through someone else. Glad you enjoyed it so much!
