One of the most rewarding things about sharing your work with an audience is the opportunity to inspire others.  Whether it be through sharing self-portraits, collaborating with photographers, or communicating with subscribers, each of my actions has a ripple effect and sends a spark of inspiration out into the world.

Even before I started modeling, I’d always had a passion for nude photography, but another form of expression I admired was erotic art.  Whenever I’d browse other models’ portfolios, seeing artwork inspired by their photos always caught my eye and I’d dream about being someone’s muse or imagine myself posing for a live drawing session.

Although I haven’t had the opportunity to be drawn in person by an artist yet, I’m excited to say that I have started to see artwork based on my photos created by talented individuals!

One such artist is Nicholas Huskins, whose work I originally discovered on Flickr.  Nicholas works digitally from reference photos and says it can sometimes take 4+ hours to complete a piece, depending on how “drawn” he is to a subject, no pun intended.

For my drawing, he chose the above self-portrait I posted previously on Flickr and to say I was amazed by the finished product is an understatement!  I loved his subtle line work and the muted color palette; it definitely captures the feel of being outdoors in the fall.

A big thank you to Nicholas for taking the time to create this beautiful piece of art that I’m now sharing with you.  Hopefully, it’s the first of many more to come from other artists!

If you’re interested in seeing more of Nicholas’ art, you can follow him on Flickr and Twitter.

Here’s hoping I sent a little inspiration your way today!

That's amazing, John! I'm truly honored that you would want to take the time to create an oil painting based on one of my photos. I can imagine it's a very time-consuming process. So far, I've seen digital art and a drawing in colored pencil created by artists inspired by my photos, but you'll be the first to do an oil painting. It's really interesting to see how an image that I'm familiar with looks in different mediums. I'd love to see how it turns out when you're finished (but no rush, of course!). Thanks again! :)

Nice artwork, Nicholas! Michael, your photos have inspired me to create an oil painting of one of your beautiful poses…haven’t decided yet which one! So many great photos to choose from!
