Poll (Updated!)
Added 2025-01-26 21:15:01 +0000 UTCFirst and foremost, I apologise for the delay in posting this.
The last poll back at the beginning of December gave me a lot to ponder.
As such, I made the decision to remove the Harry/Daenery from the poll moving forward, but I will begin writing and posting it upon the completion of The Sword of the Winter Rose.
The reason for doing so is because writing two stories within the ASOIAF world would be a very confusing undertaking, and would inevitably result in errors/misjudgements on my part whilst trying to navigate both at the same time.
For those of you that voted for it, I do apologise, but it does mean there is no question on whether or not it will be written. It will begin shortly after Winter Roses is concluded.
I had intended on taking some time away from posting an additional story, but it would be unfair to deny you of it when it proved to be rather popular.
With that being said, I have of course offered a substitute, which you will find below amongst the other options.
Of course, do feel free to comment any questions you may have, and I will do my best to answer them, and again, my apologies for the delay.
Lee (TBR)
POLL
A Promise Kept (Harry goes to Ilvermorny, Rated M)
Sirius arrives in Godric's Hollow to find the Potter home in ruins.
Upon crossing the threshold, he finds the body of his best friend, and hurry's upstairs to find Harry alive but sporting the mark of a dark curse, and an unconscious but alive Lily Potter.
As he contemplates his revenge on the man that betrayed them, the woman wakes, and Sirius knows that they are not safe here.
What happened to the Dark Lord, he cannot be sure.
All that remains of the man is his discared wand and torn robes upon the floor.
Despite his lack of understanding of what has occurred, he knows he needs to get Harry and Lily to safety, and as Hagrid arrives, there is only one place that comes to mind...
Voldemort keeps his promise to Snape not to kill Lily
LIly survives and believes that Britain is not safe for her and her son.
Sirius helps her flee to America where they live in hiding whilst raising Harry, who attends Ilvermorny, but of course, he cannot escape his Fate.
I do not want to give too much away here, but there will be romance, and Harry will return to Britain when it fits with the story.
There will be a slew of new characters to explore, and a whole new magical culture, different magics, and maybe even companions...
Sirius and Lily will NOT be romantically involved.
The Boy Who Laughed
Tormented by the murder of his parents and raised in a household that only fed the darkness he harboured, one with such an already tainted soul could only be salvaged so far, if at all.
If only the new world he found himself in could be so kind, perhaps the boy would not wish such suffering on those whom he considered his enemies.
This is not a meek Harry Potter looking for acceptance, but a boy shaped and jaded by his experience seeking only an opportunity for vengeance.
He remembered his mother’s pleading and would never forget that he was left to suffer a life of misery.
Those responsible would reap what they had sown.
Tom Riddle may have struck fear into the heart of wizarding Britain, but Harry Potter would devour it if necessary to bathe in the blood of those who had wronged him.
Important notes about this story.
- It will be a Dark Harry who is willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve his goals.
- It will follow canon events until it no longer does.
- Both Voldemort and Dumbledore will be antagonists.
- Pairing is undecided, but there will be romantic aspects throughout.
- The Horcrux will influence Harry, but it won’t be Voldemort as such, more so that it amplifies certain qualities about him.
- It is loosely based on ‘The Batman Who Laughs’. For those of you unfamiliar, a quick Youtube shorts will explain all you need to know, particularly how the Horcrux will affect Harry.
- The Horcruxes will be a key part of the story and Harry’s character progression. (No, he will not be absorbing them).
- This is something of a prequel to my planned Multi-verse story with several already-established iterations of Harry I have already written.
Dead Memories
“If we die, James, what will happen to Harry?”
“He will be raised by Sirius. He is his Godfather.”
“And what if the worst happens to him?”
James said nothing for several moments as a frown creased his brow.
“I don’t know,” he murmured worriedly. “What then?”
Lily did not know either, but it was a thought that continued to plague her.
Voldemort would inevitably come for her son, and would do so until he killed Harry, or somehow, Harry vanquished him.
The prophecy had been clear on that.
For months now, they had lived in isolation, and all she could ponder was the very worst coming to pass.
Voldemort seemed to always find a way to be rid of those that provoked his ire, and with Harry being such an apparent threat, he would do everything in his power to kill their son.
Lily swallowed deeply.
She had spent month after month contemplating what to do, and though she hoped beyond hope they could keep harry safe, she was not foolish enough to underestimate the Dark Lord.
She had fought against the man, had seen what he was capable of, and if there was indeed a way for him to find them, the man would do so.
“I don’t know,” Lily choked.
James wrapped an arm around her shoulder and held her tightly to him.
“We have to do something, James. If we cannot be there for him as we should be…”
She broke off and her husband frowned once more.
“I have an idea,” he said thoughtfully. “Perhaps it is something we should’ve been doing since we came here.”
“What is it?” Lily asked curiously.
James said nothing but went upstairs.
When he returned several moments later, he was holding a pensive with dozens of empty phials.
“If the worst comes to the worst and we are not here for him as we wish to be, we can still be there for him in memory.”
Lily’s eyes widened in realisation and she nodded her agreement before deflating.
“It won’t be the same, James.”
“No, but it will be something,” her husband said passionately. “It won’t be the same, but we can still be here for him. Besides, if all goes to plan, this will all be for nothing and it won’t matter. Think of it as a plan D.”
Lily eyed the pensive for a moment before nodding once more.
“Where do we even begin?” she asked.
- Things will be different for Harry upon entering Gringotts, and the story will move away from canon over time.
- Harry will be influenced by the presence of both James and Lily Potter in their own ways, but he will become his own person, shaped by his experiences.
- The Pairing for this story will be an eventual Harry/Katie Bell (No, I will not kill her this time)
Godfather (Rated M)
Having blown up his Aunt Marge, Harry flees Privet Drive.
Believing himself to now be a fugitive, he does not know what he will do, until he runs into a large, shaggy, who is much more than he seems…
- Instead of going to The Leaky Cauldron, Harry heads to Grimmauld Place with Sirius, who is bent on revenge, but realises that Harry needs him more than he could’ve imagined.
- This will develop into quite an epic story which will see Harry learn valuable lessons from his Godfather, whom he chooses to stay with instead of returning to Hogwarts… for the beginning portion of the story.
- Harry will be heavily influenced by Sirius in many ways, but his time in Grimmauld Place will see him learn much that he would never be given the opportunity to at Hogwarts, changing him in many ways.
- The pairing for this will be an eventual Harry/Hannah Abbot, something we do not see often in Fanfiction.
- Her character will be explored in depth, and she will have her own journey throughout.
- Will fit canon events where required but will inevitably deviate away from it.
The Wayfarer
As Lily Evans pleads for the life of her son, she watches as the Dark Lord raises his wand to seal her destiny, but it seems that Fate has other ideas…
With her husband dead, and no idea of whom her saviour is, the war outside continues on, a war that is seemingly impossible to win.
Despite the setback, the Dark Lord still seems undefeatable, and it is only a matter of time before he makes another on her son…
Not knowing who she can trust, she begins looking for the stranger who saved them, but the identity of the young man will change her life in ways she could never imagine…
- This will be a post OOTP fic, so Harry will be around 16 when it starts
- Pairing is undecided for now, but there will be lots of possibilities as the story progresses
- This is a scenario of what could’ve been had Voldemort failed to kill Lily yet lived for the first war to continue.
- It will be a Dark Fic in places, and Voldemort will be considerably more dangerous than in canon
- Lots of fun characters to explore here, and Harry will interact with many of them.

Being a new patron and late to the party, I like all these outlines. I joined because I enjoy TBR's writing style. I have read all his works many times over on FFN and/or Discord.

2025-02-07 17:16:49 +0000 UTCI’d love to see The Boy Who Laughed play out. I’m always interested in a dark Harry.

2025-02-06 19:32:42 +0000 UTCI think you should drop the polls and just write whichever one you're most excited about. We're all here because we live your writing, not because we get to choose the plot.

2025-02-05 04:36:03 +0000 UTCI’m gutted you pulled the Harry/ dani one as it sounded great and I don’t like how infrequent the current side story is updated, a promise kept gets my vote though

2025-02-02 21:45:13 +0000 UTCI’m split between a promise kept and godfather. But a promise kept here we go

2025-01-28 06:04:10 +0000 UTCAny chance on holding off on the Harry/Dany story until it can be the main? Winter Rose is amazing and I am sure the next one will be as well so two chapters a week would be best!

2025-01-27 18:08:49 +0000 UTCHonestly I find the one of him attending Illvermorny most fascinating just because we don't get a lot of fics with that, or if there have been usually haven't been real long and one by you sounds intriguing.

2025-01-27 12:36:33 +0000 UTCI don't really care, any story written is going to be amazing and I will read no matter what!!

2025-01-27 09:37:16 +0000 UTCHopefully 'A Promise Kept' wins. I always wondered about a Ilvermorny based fanfic. Can't wait to see that happen.

2025-01-27 03:55:27 +0000 UTCI’m glad you won’t make Sirius and Lily romantically involved. It’s always peeved me in other stories.

2025-01-27 03:53:07 +0000 UTCBut you’re a patron, not buying a book. For roughly the cost of a cup of coffee you get two-three long chapters a week of stores by a talented writer who wouldn’t be able to publish and sell these as books, for copyright reasons. To many of us that seems like a pretty god bargain, but as with anything on the market, you can always choose differently. Personally I’d hate to see Lee burn out trying to write even faster; and likely less edited and polished. If he can sustain the current pace, which is frankly very impressive to me, then I hope he makes real good money and can put away a lot of it for the future.

2025-01-27 00:06:42 +0000 UTCLet me start of by saying you are entitled to your opinion and even having your say but simply because I believe things are slightly more nuanced than your comment makes it seem and I want other patrons reading the comments to have another point of view, I’d like to raise the following points in response to your comment: 1. When you say $60 per story have you actually calculated how long the story is? It matters because the average story that Lee writes these days is around 400,000 words or more that is more than half blood prince and deathly hallows combined. A flower blooms was more than 700k words which is about 70% word length of all 7 potter books combined. Which leads me to my second point. 2. If you were out in the market to purchase a book along the lines of potter or even what Lee writes you would not be buying one but multiple books because mostly publishers selling fantasy genre books sell them in parts whereas every story that is written here combines it in one. Would it seem more cost effective to you if Lee starts dividing these stories in sequels? 3. You get a say in what story is being written and even how it is being written to an extent. When you go to the bookstore on the other hand the end product is there (take it or leave it) 4. This is a niche product and service no publisher in the market is publishing a book for 2000 odd paying customers. If that was the case books would get a lot more expensive very quickly. And my last point, 5. All of us get access to a work in progress book twice a week which is honestly amazing considering people sometimes have to wait for years to get a completed book or sequel. I’ll finish this by saying you have your very valid point of view but this is mine. I hope any patrons reading your comment and getting influenced by it also see mine just to think things over. I personally look forward to the updates and enjoy the stories and writing to the fullest. I hope I haven’t offended you and you take this comment in the spirit of discussion and nothing else. Regards, Your fellow patron

2025-01-27 00:00:15 +0000 UTCI'm really hoping one of the undecided pairing stories becomes Harry/Fleur. I remember you mentioning somewhere that you wanted to do that pairing again eventually.

2025-01-26 23:50:30 +0000 UTC😩😩😩 How's Godfather not going to win??? Let's be honest, Promise Kept is going to be similar to Written in the Stars but just in a different setting & Harry comes to England post 4th year or something. Again, not sure why people want to read and extremely Dark Harry Fic & the Wayfarer seems okayish. Godfather, I feel, will be something more fresh whilst still feeling familiar. Dead Memories is the next best choice. Also, I'm very happy that the crossover fic will be left until the other story is finished. Anyway, if you feel the need to break, just do it. You've been doing this non-stop. Maybe a few months might help
Sunny
2025-01-26 22:47:29 +0000 UTCMan, they all look really good, but I'm mainly interested in The Boy Who Laughed and Dead Memories. The Boy Who Laughed because it would be very interesting to see a Dark Harry version. And if we combine this idea with your darker writing style, it would definitely make a very interesting story to follow. Especially if he kills the Dursleys at some point 😈. And as for Dead Memories, I found it equally interesting as it will give more prominence and depth to James and Lily and how they influence Harry's life beyond just saving him and being mentioned during the story. Despite everything, all the stories are very interesting. But, today my vote goes to The Boy Who Laughed (even though it's in second place 🥲). (Google Translator)

2025-01-26 22:41:58 +0000 UTCI'm sticking with my previous choice of Godfather.

2025-01-26 22:31:27 +0000 UTCCan we get all of them? All would be nice.

2025-01-26 22:26:00 +0000 UTCPersonally voted for Dead Memories. We need more James/Lily influencing Harry fics and I would love to see your take on it
Enshin1006
2025-01-26 22:12:09 +0000 UTCI voted for A Promise Kept. Written in the Stars is very interesting with Harry going to Durmstrang, so I am curious about Harry going to another school (can't remember ever reading an Ilvermorny story before).
Péter Erdélyi
2025-01-26 21:53:53 +0000 UTCYou know, if Boy Who Laughed is apparently important to the eventual Into the Leeverse story then I'd almost recommend just doing that one after Winter Rose since it keeps losing in the polls. That said, I want the Harry/Dany story so I'll take it however I can get it. As for the poll, I chose A Promise Kept. I always love me some Sirius and it'll be interesting to see your interpretation of Ilvemorny.
SerKaevyn
2025-01-26 21:53:21 +0000 UTCI voted for A Promise Kept but, Godfather would be cool too
Noname
2025-01-26 21:43:56 +0000 UTCYeah exactly! I was expecting more frequent updates on The Sword of the Winter Rose. If each post takes around three weeks, I’d prefer to wait until there are more chapters available to catch up on before committing to the membership. See you guys in a year!
Raejean
2025-01-26 21:42:54 +0000 UTCWhat all that being said, you wrong Dumbledore as an antagonist will be great and stretch the usual story telling a bit further.
GeorgieD
2025-01-26 21:41:26 +0000 UTCThank you. That’s all I’m saying. And asking as a paying Patron for over three years (I think) is for an additional chapter per week to justify the overall cost. I read a lot of FF and this is the only author I willingly pay for.
GeorgieD
2025-01-26 21:40:23 +0000 UTCDuh Ondrej! What a brilliant deduction.
GeorgieD
2025-01-26 21:38:46 +0000 UTCIncredibly bummed the Harry/Dany story was put on the back burner. There are so few crossovers that see the ASOIAF character in the HP universe, that I was really looking forward to it. As much as I like the ongoing SotWR, it’s tougher to get into with the long breaks between chapters.
Rick Malone
2025-01-26 21:38:14 +0000 UTCThese all looks so good, but ultimately went with A Promise Kept. Would love to see the others in the next poll after that story, especially The Boy Who Laughed.
Joe K
2025-01-26 21:34:13 +0000 UTCGodfather sounds great but the pairing draws little interest. Id definitely prefer the HP/KB pairing there myself, it would be nice to see it done right. Also looking forward to seeing what your do with the HP/ASOIF crossover.

2025-01-26 21:33:03 +0000 UTCWhat an asinine comment. Of course nobody’s forcing them, that’s not how making purchases works. But making a statement about the cost/benefit of membership isn’t complaining. I personally had no idea people were spending that much for what amounts to less than a book a year.
Jake Martin
2025-01-26 21:33:03 +0000 UTCIt is expensive but I personally enjoy having something to look forward to every week.

2025-01-26 21:31:31 +0000 UTCReally want a dark Harry story from Baron. I think with your style of writing, the Dark Harry story may turn out to be your best one yet considering you plan to incorporate it with the multiverse you are planning. Hoping it wins the poll 🙏🏼
Shahnawaz Hashmi
2025-01-26 21:31:20 +0000 UTCWouldn't mind the godfather coming up in future polls. Sirius is one of my favourite characters but the dark harry tbwl wins this time round for me

2025-01-26 21:30:48 +0000 UTCHow many more chapter can we expect for the sword of winter rose? Recently it's been 3 weeks between chapters. So it would be a while before we can see the Harry/Daenery story

2025-01-26 21:27:10 +0000 UTCI voted for A Promise Kept, and for a few reasons. Mainly, there can never be too much Sirius Black in any fic, ever. Second, I’d love to see your take on a Lily who isn’t at odds with Harry (like he she was in The Green in the Grey) and has a hand in raising Harry. Third, seeing how you approach Ilvermorny sounds incredible. My only hesitancy comes from the basic culture differences between Americans and the British — they seem insignificant at first, but they compound greatly when dealing with a society rather than individuals. Excited to see how you tackle whichever fic is chosen regardless.
Jake Martin
2025-01-26 21:26:46 +0000 UTCTo hell with it, write them all in your own time. They all sound like good reads.
Jeremy porter
2025-01-26 21:26:20 +0000 UTCI’d like you keep the pairing of Sirius and Lily open. Wait see how the story develops. It just might work between the two of them. This an interesting way to look at the emotional aspect of Sirius feeling guilty about James’ death, and Lily feeling like she might be betraying her love for James. You could have some like angst to write about. Makes an interesting side story.
Christopher Dilena
2025-01-26 21:24:19 +0000 UTCWell... at least my top 2 are the top 2 currently... if only in the wrong order. Really want a dark Harry story. Atleast the ilvermony one sounds good. Godfather sounded good too, until wmI saw the Hannah Abbott pairing, then it sounded the worst.
Will Bonner
2025-01-26 21:23:46 +0000 UTCWas a close choice for me between TBWL and Godfather, but I am interested to see the Baron's take on a dark Harry. We have had morally grey and even jaded Harry before, but never a truly dark Harry.
Dennis Seeger
2025-01-26 21:21:03 +0000 UTCAfter doing the math based on the number of chapters per week and the cost I realized that I’m paying $60 or more per story. Much more than any book I’ve ever bought. Add three chapters a week.
