"I see that you are no worse for wear.”

Cassiopeia frowned at the smirking man and rolled her eyes at him.

“It will take more than a greasy Spaniard to get the better of me!” she
declared.

Gellert chuckled as he shook his head.

“I’m just grateful to see you alive and well,” he said fondly, “and that our
new comrades managed to get you out.”

“I do not know how my pride will ever recover.”

“Is your pride worth your life, Cassiopeia?”

The woman shrugged.

“It might well be when it comes to him.”

Gellert released a deep sigh.

“He is undoing a mess that I created, and it is much better to not find
yourself on his side than against him.”

“I still don’t see how they can manage it. Espinosa, Broz, and Fontaine are
one thing, but the others…”

“I know,” Gellert murmured thoughtfully. “I have every faith in them, but it is
not easy. I do not believe they have fully grasped what it is they are facing
just yet. Even after his farm was destroyed, Jameson has not seen anything
yet.”

Cassiopeia nodded.

“So, what do we do?”

Gellert frowned as he peered out of the window.

“There is someone who may be able to help.”

“You don’t mean…?”

“I do,” Gellert said gravely.

“Where would we even find him?”

“You have to make him want to find you,” Gellert chuckled humourlessly. “I’ve not seen him since I was locked up, but I have no doubt he is
monitoring things. He is always monitoring things.”

“So, how do I get him to find me?”

“My dear, I would not know where to begin in understanding how he works,
but I expect if you leave a sign, he will find it. From there, I suppose it is his
decision on whether or not he chooses to find you."
