He thinks of how he would of crowned her if he won the joust and then rhaegar wouldn't of named lyanna so no rebellion ...Also he remembers that a stark (Brandon most likely but a lot thought it was ned who danced with her) slept with her and she got pregnant . She commits suicide after a stillbirth and finds out Arthur died after Ned returns dawn. This is why most of westeros thought she was Jon's mom or her wet nurse Wylla(neds story to robert and edric dayne says they were milk brothers). Barristan thinks if he won all of that would of been avoided....

2023-12-15 06:29:21 +0000 UTCIs Barristan's infatuation with Ashara from canon? I assume he's much older than her, by maybe 20 years, which wouldn't have been an uncommon pairing in medieval times. But hasn't he been in the Kingsguard most of her life? And aren't the Kinsguard sworn off from having wives or children or land? Or is that a fanfiction invention? I read the books like 10 years ago and can't remember much from them.
