This is one of few chapters that have ever been a real disappointment. Given the situation as described, Voldie might well have been able top drive off the defenders but not without losing the VAST majority of the death eaters with him. Between that and the loss of ALL the most faithful except for Crouch, the whole tempo of things should have been altered. It will be interesting to see where the deus ex machina loss is leading things.

I do find it hard to believe that Dumbledore + Amelia + Many Aurors + All of Azkabans Cover + Harrys Res Stone Warriors + the advantage of cover is unable to hold of Voldemort and 40 Death Eater. At least Harry did what needed to be done from what it looks like.

2023-07-31 21:01:45 +0000 UTCOn Harry's dilemma, I have to agree with Charlus who said it best, that it's not on Harry to think it's all on him. Harry may think his intentions are true, but where does it stop? Also, i do hope that Harry agrees to be part of the DA, as it takes the story back to Hogwarts and involves a greater proportion of the characters, who have been characterized really well with no bashing. I do have to echo what @Harharryhar and @Michael_scott said, that the drop in Dumbledore's ability in what he needed to do in that situation seemed strange, considering he's considered to be one of the greatest wizards in HP lore. The situation didn't seem to be no win one. Anyway, thank you for the chapter Mr McCusker and I look forward to the next one.
