Same. I agree with this assessment. I appreciate it more on multiple viewings, where the first one instantly blew me away.

The issue with Wicked: For Good is that it’s based on the second act of the stage musical, and that act only runs about 40 minutes while the first act is over 90 minutes and has the most memorable songs, plus the full introduction to Glinda and Elphaba. In the musical, this second act is meant to be a shorter section that wraps up a story we’ve already been told, which is why, when you stretch it into a movie that’s over two hours long, it ends up feeling long and honestly, less exciting.
I don’t know if you noticed but the first part is really about Elphaba — her story and her journey toward stepping into her true power — while this second part is about Glinda: her story, her dreams, and how she becomes “Glinda the Good.” And I do feel like that arc was actually well portrayed.
It makes me a bit sad that you might’ve missed the emotional impact of some of those final moments because, I think, you were looking at your phone. Glinda’s character does get a really beautiful closure and important detail: the Grimmerie opens for her at the end, something that previously only happened with Elphaba.
It’s not better than the first film, but I personally was still very moved by this one.

Your review is fair. Since the original broadway play, people have always said part 2 is worse than part 1. I think it’s because they’re bound to trying not to change the events of Wizard of Oz. You’re right. It’s 2 hrs & still feels rushed. It somehow needed more breathing room. Or better direction.
Part 1 is definitely the stronger movie, but I do enjoy For Good.
