Yes, Liberace was a very real person. My Grandma was a big fan of his, as she had several old vinyl records of his. The real Scott Thorson was actually in prison when this movie was released. After his release, he did the talk show circuit (Howard Stern and a few others). He claims that after Liberace, he became the "house boy" of Michael Jackson. Scott Thorson passed away at the age of 65 in 2024. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. There are probably a million YouTube clips if you want to dig deep on Liberace or Scott Thorson.
