Yeah bro! Chester did a kind of grunge-post rock (maybe punk? but not really) kinda album with this band he formed called Dead By Sunrise. All his vocals, all his lyrics. It was about the same time Mike Shinoda did the Fort Minor album (don’t know if you’ve heard or that either? lol) But yeah Chester did a full straightforward rock-grunge album with a similar production style to LP.

That off rhythm really makes those verses awesome because it’s almost like he can’t wait for the next beat to get the next line in. Works so beautifully.

2024-02-15 07:27:39 +0000 UTCBeautifully mixed album. They’ve really brought out the rhythm section, mainly guitars. They let the vocals push back in so many sections so we hear the REAL instruments (while also pushing the vocals when they need to in other sections). Dynamics are different on this one. Speaking of the opposite, that ‘organ’ sound you don’t like does sound like a distorted ‘church’ type electric organ, but it’s most likely a synth. In Castle of Glass, it’s actually a distorted acoustic piano. But again, they really let ‘real’ instruments shine for most of the album. The electronic stuff is secondary and filler. By the way, don’t forget to listen to Dead by Sunrise at some point 👍 You’re gonna love it brother
