I wanted to take another whack at giving guys more faces since it was really fun to do and something I genuinely want to get better at, so for these faces I wanted to give more of an ethnic and “beef” look to them. I was mostly inspired looking at this image of a Mongolian wrestler in tradition garments and he just looked like he could take down a buffalo just from his face alone. Weird way to describe it, I know but it was something that was interesting to see just looking at his face. Also i want to try not making the men in my images not too cut and more blended with their shapes and figures. I’m probably going to still have muscle memory and will have to try to do a conscious effort to not do it but I hope I can get it lol.

Not that there is anything wrong with cut but I’ve mentioned in the past I want to minimize the “bodybuilder” aesthetic choice and try understanding other bodytypes that can still be considered tough and strong. Again, definitely will not be successful here but will try haha. One last thing I want to mention is that I’ve been listening to videos on what artists say that held them back (since I feel like that more than ever now) and a lot of them mentioned certain things I know, but one that Is concrete that I feel I’m incredibly weak at (amongst other things as well) is giving enough information with simple shapes cohesively, not to be too engrossed in details and see the image as a whole if it works, and as mentioned from the last description of works is to not overthink and just do.

Some of these are reminders but it’s something I definitely needed to hear again because my brain lit up immediately saying “that’s probably it” along with my last introspective thoughts on what’s been happening to me. Long blurb of stuff but it’s always a bit therapeutic typing this out haha. Anyway, that’s all for now and hope you like!
