Fabric of problems...

Different to lights, that I now have some control, I'm struggling a lot with clothes materials.

Different to 3Delight where I had full control of the material - though a little limited - , on iRay I'm still struggling to reach "basic" results because of the "thousands" of controls...

At least I'm improving and choosing the shortest way to reconfigure an old texture into the new system while improving it without needing to lose half an hour on each fabric.

DeeDee's dress and David's shirt weren't working good but for this scene they kinda work now. The same for the favorite panties and Tony's underwear, who are in the next CT.

Now I'm working on Phoebe's top again, testing some stuff: the results of the 4k render I did weren't that good yet.

I'm getting a bit anxious, iRay results are not as accurate as 3Delight on previews and it takes a lot of horsepower to get done, despite of completing earlier than 3delight on complex scenes...

Fabric of problems... Fabric of problems... Fabric of problems... Fabric of problems... Fabric of problems... Fabric of problems...

Ah, yes, I'm using denoising filter in the final render - and in photoshop I created an action where I put a little picture treatment to improve contrast, definition and add a little noise to "fix" the denoise filter lack of definition. I'm still learning how to deal with materials... but the good thing is that I'm already rendering a fist batch, so, things are evolving.

Are you using the Post Noise Filter? I find I can run a lot fewer iterations to get similar results... Also rendering at twice the target, but for less time then downscaling back to the target for some free anti-aliasing/denoising
